Description
Another example of revisiting a piece of work in order to see how new shading changes it, the original (www.deviantart.com/koshindou/a… ) was from roughly the same "era" (do I really have drawing eras? epochs?) as the Deathwatch work that I posted previously. I was enamored with the clean lines and easy access to digital colors that the simple lineart provided, but I was (and am) still learning about the importance of the weight of my various inks. Left with roughly the same 'strength' I thought that the lines all kind of blurred together. I think that going back and providing some of that weight to the various figures, especially the central one (a heavily-augmented Arch-Militant from one of our old Rogue Trader adventures, as I recall), helped to make the piece a stronger one, especially "standing alone" without any colors to add to the sense of contrast.
I certainly have other examples of this period that I could work on, but only time will tell if this kind of exercise holds my interest. It actually takes me a fair amount of time to go over the originals, top-to-bottom, and I'm sure I've got other things I could be doing...

Thanks. So do you think this sort of "revisit" is worth the results? Or should I be moving on to new works?

Hey, like I'm an expert in anything either. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
