Having recently watched the impressive rise of the Exalted Third Edition Kickstarter, the game has been back on my mind of late, so I decided that I'd revisit some of the characters, with the help of a new sketchpad. The Saint Amongst Steel Graves is pretty-much set, design-wise, but I hadn't drawn Lyra in some time, and it gave me a chance to play around with her armor design a little bit (some parts I like, and others I'll probably continue shuffling with). These two seem destined to clash - one being a Solar hero and an exile of the death-conquered city of Thorns, and the other the (short-sighted) traitor that opened its gates. I might have accomplished more, of course, but I decided to completely derail most of my weekend by digging out the Super Nintendo and playing more than a little Secret of Mana and Legend of Zelda...I have no defense - those were quality games.

Well it's Lyra - lots of things are bigger than she is.
I did put some effort into trying to make her form stay compact, especially compared to the Saint. She's a little more difficult to draw because of stuff like that (especially when drawn next to other characters).

Well - I think your efforts were successful. She's very compact, and you get the sense of motion from her.
And I definitely dont want to be hit by her sword...

Despite having seen art of Saint for years, I'd missed that part of his backstory somehow, and I think it's great. I'm digging his ragged cloak there too.

I do like that cloak of his myself - I think that a cloak worked its way into Lyra's design because I liked the sense of movement the Saint's outfit gave him.

He's far too busy coming up with reasons why it was everyone else's fault, rather than his own, to be ashamed.
