Last weekend was my gaming group's first foray into the Only War universe, and I think that it went pretty well (no one died, despite some very...interesting decisions on tactics and strategy). I figured that, since they were fresh in my mind, that some of the PCs and their long-suffering comrades would be a good place to start back into drawing. Front and center is Bernhard Fel, the squad's beloved and slightly suicidal Sergeant It'll be interesting to see whether or not he can keep these people under control.And alive. That would be good too.

Heh - they are not up to carapace armor level yet (although they did steal a set from a dead guy, being the filthy Steigian looters that they are...). I'm sure that the Sgt. thinks he's the only one that can get things done...but me, I'm waiting a few more missions before I'm sure that any of them are really that good at it.
I don't think the Star Wars reference was intentional in this case - it's a connection back to our Rogue Trader campaign (he's from the same household as one of our heated rivals).

I don't think he ever used it in-game, honestly. He much preferred using his chainsword.
Having observed the character throughout the session, I'm not sure if I can truly call him that yet.

Very heroic! It has a dynamic quality, though I can't quite put my finger on what makes it so. The wide variation in line heaviness, maybe? Whatever the cause, I like it.

I'll have to mull over those lines - I did a lot of thickening (as I often do) as I was touching things up, but I'm not sure whether or not I had a cohesive plan at the time I was doing it.

Hopefully you'll enjoy it. It's too soon over here to know how the campaign will go, but the first session was a lot of fun - people seemed to enjoy the setting, and the squad is already starting to form its little cliques and favorites, which should lead to some interesting roleplaying down the road.
Of course that depends on if PCs manage to stay alive...
