Description
A little coloring practice, based on some work that I did at Gen Con this year - the Devastator Marine from our little Deathwatch game, Ezriel Devorak of the Blood Angels, long before he joined the 'Watch. I've never had much success in drawing Terminator Armor in the past, but my recent exposure to the designs (through the Death Angel game as well as some miniatures I've been assembling) made me want to take another shot at it. As usual, I still have issues with capturing the proper bulk of the armor, and there are more than a few other issues.But I did practice more coloring, and every time I can muster up the determination to do so is probably good for me in the long run...

Far from it for either. My first space marine drawing was a terminator though. It suffers the same problem other space marine art trying to get those portions down.

For me, Spare Marine armor is like drawing cars - I convince myself that I can do it without a reference, only to prove myself SO VERY WRONG time and again.

The whole thing is really good, but for some reason I can't stop staring at the purity seals. Heh. They are just so perfect and neat. My eye is drawn to them. ^^

Thanks for the input - I'll ponder the seals, and see if I changed my usual design any this time around. I have a general love for them, of course.

The armor very well done as always but the face doesn't feel like a Astartes head. Most have short hair. Still good as usual.

Agreed on the hair - I'm following the character's description though. It seems that our Deathwatch team has a desire to be more fashionable, even if it must make the helmets very cramped.

I had to go and look him up, but you're right - there is something of a resemblance.
