This is a quick tutorial to help users of DeviantART learn how to JOIN the group #AnthroCommunity because this is a popular question, I figured I'd shed some light on it! This can also be used for any other group! (stay tuned, there might be a video tutorial too!)
Go to #AnthroCommunity
At the top of the groups page, you will see a large blue box that says “CONTRIBUTE”. At the far RIGHT hand corner you will see “JOIN OUR GROUP”. 
A box will pop up with your request to join. Write in your request and hit 
All applications are AUTOMATICALLY accepted which means you will become a member instantly. Check your MESSAGES CENTER for the APPROVED membership down under the GROUPS section! Welcome to AnthroCommunity Group!
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask in the group!

Well when you join you're still waiting on an approval message or whatever. So I'm not quite sure why you have to be approved in the first place when it's instant join.

That's just how it works. The "wait" to become a member isnt really instant, so you don't need to wait for an "approval" raelly, it just tells you that you were approved : )
