Okay, here's a better explanation:
Big Macintosh is strong, so he could serve as a protective figure for Fluttershy. He's also extremely patient, and would put up with Fluttershy's extreme cowardice better than most characters on the show.

What an adorable pair! Fluttershy and Big Mac are both shy, quiet and mostly keep to themselves. I think the idea is brilliant by itself. But! The idea isn't alone at all! There is excellent lighting and coloration. The colors between Macintosh and Fluttershy are perfectly meshed together, they're coloration are both in the prefect pallet. The light speckles make the scene romantic and magical. This is simply adorably fantastic!

You are so very welcome! I love Fluttershy, she's my favorite of the ponies, and there has always been something I really like about Big Macintosh. So both of them together is absolutely perfect! My new favorite combo

I love this picture but going into critique mode: what's with big Mac he seems to have a very circular head and it kind of makes him look sorta weird. Sorry if a I was critical but it said to "Write A Critique" but I really like this pic 10/10 points!

I learned it by analyzing how others do it and then trying to imitate their techniques.

The shading and sunlight are beautiful, and the art is awesome. you just forgot the yellow tips on his hooves, otherwise i LOVE this!
