Description
Download for full size! It's hugeRedid my Fox color chart from a little over 5 months ago for my Fox Avatars on Second Life. I included the rest of the colors I had planned, but didn't have room for, from my last one (file got way too big).
It's gonna be a challenge to texture all of these guys, but it will be done!
All of these foxes, except the bottom 4, are actual color mutations of a red fox.
Only the red, cross, silver, grey, and arctic foxes (summer and winter) occur naturally in the wild. All the other fox colors on this chart only occur through selective breeding.

Edit: The "Shadow" fox is actually a ranched mutation of the Arctic fox, so I will be excluding it from my fox av colors due to it looking exactly like the arctic fox, only much bigger.

However, out of all the color variations, I cannot say I have a favorite. I also tend to frequently change my mind on my favorite color all the time!

I came to look at your chart again after I saw a burgundy fox in the wildlife park. (photo is already uploaded)
They told me he had been found in the forest when he was still a pup after his mother was shot. It's not allowed to breed foxes in Germany and there's no pelt farm near this city where he could have probably run away from.
Is there absolutely no possibilty he had been born in the wild or did they just lie to me? '_'

i like the silver fox, the blue, the burgundy, and the amber the most. and remember, there's also a darker blue shade in the blue arctic fox and a compleatly black, white tail tipped versioon of the red fox with no silver hairs or tips

I've been adoring this at a distance for some time, can finally fave it now I've got a dA account. Makes me wonder what the genetic code behind the red fox variations is...

I saw a report somewhere, and it's only speculation, that a platinum fox was spotted in the wild. I'm kinda excited, because if it's true it means that there will likely be more. I hear that the platinum pattern is a dominant gene

It much more likely it was a furfarm escapee or someone's pet that escaped. It is possible in the wild, but is EXTREMELY extremely rare.
