A drawing of the battle agaist ridley from super metroid.This battle is mostly what the player is been waiting for througthout the whole game scince you saw him on the begining stealing the metroid larva.
This last battle for me it can be kinda difficult, ridley takes a lot of punishment, and the more damage, the harder to avoid.
My favorite part of the game is his hideout, the music and the level as a buildup for this battle are really cool, I just with the level was a bit longer, oh well.

Oh, definitely. The BOSSES were fun, no doubt. Fishing for Magma fish, GRABBING RIDLEY'S MOUTH AND SHOVING A CHARGE BEAM DOWN HIS THROAT, BLOWING A METROID QUEEN UP FROM THE INSIDE...
Seriously, if they took out or HEAVILY changed the cutscenes, Other M would have been awesome.
But no, Adam and the GF have to be misogynist douchebags and Samus has to be a whiny, yet somehow monotone, idiot. Why, Nintendo, why? Samus was the first big female name in video games. She and Lara Croft are the titans of badass women in video games. As a feminist, Other M hurt. It's such a weird juxtaposition; half the time Samus is tossing around fuckers like its nothing, and the other half she's being boring and not at all like herself.

Trust me, MB and Maddy is also rather bullshit in how it gets tacked on at the VERY end. But Samus and Adam is just so much more bullshit. He was hyped up as a competent, harsh, but fair CO in Fusion, but come Other M, he's just this cold, emotionless robot that acts NOTHING like how Samus said he did in Fusion, which just comes off as odd. He's supposed to be this calm, mentor figure that used to keep Samus' wilder ideas in check back when she wasn't her best yet, not some unmoving robot who didn't even give a SINGLE shit when he brother died.
THAT scene actually angered me more than the 'Gauntlet' scene in the Fire sector where you couldn't use the Varia suit. That was COMPLETELY out of character. Yes, he has to make tough choices. Yes, Samus really not have made it in time. But the fact he doesn't emote AT ALL as he essentially SENTENCES HIS BROTHER TO DEATH just tears it for me. That is NOTHING like how he was built up in Fusion. He was said to be stern and calm, yes, but he at least showed FEELINGS in Fusion. He at least showed disdain for his past actions and dry wit and irony. He ended up proving he cared about Samus a little.
For him to not even LOOK slightly perturbed as his brother died was just bullshit and ruined any respect I had for his character in Other M. He wasn't competent, he wasn't fair, he wasn't the 'perfect military mind,' and he was NOT a mentor figure in the SLIGHTEST.

Yeah the game can be a mess sometimes, like Adam deactivating the varia suit with a single ice beam shot, not activating the varia suit whenever she wanted, but remember that there is one point when she activates by herself the screw attack and space jump, and she decided to activate the gravity suit only when she was about to be thown into the void of space, so perhaps she may Β have a reason to activate an ability only when it's really needed who knows........
But I don't think it was as bad as everyone says, it was a very fun game, and scince it showed some of samus's weak side it also shows how strong she is, the way she fights, her moves, her abilities.

The lower Norfair theme is one of the best songs in Metroid, can't believe it didn't end up in Smash Bros... Β Β And While the prime3 fight where your falling down the hole is my favorite fight against Ridley, Super Metroid's and prime1 run a close second.

well whatever happened on other M, despite how samus reacted when she saw ridley, I though the boss battle istelf agaist ridley on other M was pretty good, to the bes but still great.

While the rest of the game just ruined her! I haven't played it but I've seen reviews and it makes me not want to play it, I don't go out and buy a bad game in order to introduce me to a franchise as my first game.

I recomend you almost any other game to start...except metroid prime hunters and other M maybe, and if you like the franchise, then give it a shot to other M it's not the best metroid, but personally I think it's not as bas as people say, but it's important that you have your own opinions.

sometimes it's better to not suffer your way through a bad game, which I've suffered 2 times: tintin on the Wii, and transformers rise of the dark spark, both are bad, either too easy, or zero story or effort put in and it is torture when you play them.
