Description FULL VIEW FOR TUTORIAL

Update: 15th June 2010

As I am too busy, It will be hard for me to reply to comments on this page. However, if the issue is really pressing, you're free to note me, and I will do my best to answer.

Let's help each other! If you see a question on this page that you can answer, feel free to help out. You'll have all our gratitude.

---------------------------------------------------------

Take note before beginning the tutorial:
1. You must have a tablet. Wacom is a popular and reliable brand for the most part. For beginners, I'd suggest a Bamboo Fun model.

2. For photoshop, only version 7.0 and up has wacom support. For other software, please check [link] to see if yours has the right support.

3. Also, please ensure you have your tablet drivers are installed. If yours is a wacom model you can download them from the wacom homepage at [link]

--------------------------------------

I've received quite a number of question regarding my work, one of them being "How DO you do your lineart?" Hopefully, this tutorial will answer that question.

This is a BEGINNER LEVEL TUTORIAL that was done in Photoshop CS, but should work for any version with tablet capabilities. Even if you dont use photoshop, the fundamentals are the same.

Please tell me if it helps, and if I should do a colour tutorial. (I am considering it, but its ALOT of work.)

You must buy it... cs2 costs €94,95 at themoment... but you only must buy it if u are a serious artist^^, and not one that wants too try it a time^^.
You could try the 1 month trial on this site [link] i only am not sure if it still exists... but just look for it^^.

This is a very nice tutorial. It explains a lot. I won't be using it though since I have PhotoShop Elements 5.0. Curse you Adobe! Curse you! Anyways, it's a very good tutorial.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kuridoki In reply to lamch0pz [2007-05-30 17:08:17 +0000 UTC]

If you're editing an existing file, just go to Image >> Image Size and in the dialogue box you should see "Resolution", just key in the number and you're set to go.

I tried doing that with all the settings for the pen pressure thing. But it doesn't seem to be working. Uh, so basically I don't really understand.

I even tried drawing as lightly as possible on the tablet and it looks the same as usual.

Hvae you installed the driver for your tablet? If it's a wacom product, just go to [link] to download the appropriate driver. If that still doesnt work, feel free to ask again.

yes uhhhh I got the wacom graphire 6x8 like this week. and uhhhhh for some reason it apparently only works when I'm in photoshop elements and not the ordinary photoshop 7.0 =/

kuridoki In reply to kakashifanal [2007-05-30 01:24:25 +0000 UTC]

If you've already set the brush settings correctly as per my tutorial, try going into pen mode (on your tablet driver), opening photoshop (and if it still doesnt work) taking out and re-plugging the USB cable for your tablet.

kakashifanal In reply to kuridoki [2007-05-31 23:20:47 +0000 UTC]

..........Yea, it works now. I rechecked the brush settings and everything. But, just wondering, if you don't really have a steady hand? Like, you can't do a straight long line without make some wiggles in it. Cause I really don't have that much of a steady hand..... ;;

I would be glad if you guys would check it out and give me some criticism/pointers! Its the only picture in my gallery. Thanks very much, Im very selfconcious about my tablet art. It is very different from paper.

Peace Fools

about the tablet... is it okay using ANY tablet size as long as it's big enough to get your work done normally?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kuridoki In reply to YukiYijiKusakabe [2007-04-30 09:24:50 +0000 UTC]

Yes, of course! As long as you feel you are able to work comfortably without strain, that is fine.
