Description
FULL VIEW FOR TUTORIALUpdate: 15th June 2010
As I am too busy, It will be hard for me to reply to comments on this page. However, if the issue is really pressing, you're free to note me, and I will do my best to answer.
Let's help each other! If you see a question on this page that you can answer, feel free to help out. You'll have all our gratitude.
---------------------------------------------------------
Take note before beginning the tutorial:
1. You must have a tablet. Wacom is a popular and reliable brand for the most part. For beginners, I'd suggest a Bamboo Fun model.
2. For photoshop, only version 7.0 and up has wacom support. For other software, please check [link] to see if yours has the right support.
3. Also, please ensure you have your tablet drivers are installed. If yours is a wacom model you can download them from the wacom homepage at [link]
--------------------------------------
I've received quite a number of question regarding my work, one of them being "How DO you do your lineart?" Hopefully, this tutorial will answer that question.
This is a BEGINNER LEVEL TUTORIAL that was done in Photoshop CS, but should work for any version with tablet capabilities. Even if you dont use photoshop, the fundamentals are the same.
Please tell me if it helps, and if I should do a colour tutorial. (I am considering it, but its ALOT of work.)

But I have a question, I've set my brush settings like that and my pressure sensitivity isn't working. D: Was there something I had to do to make my tablet have pressure sensitivity??

Maybe you don't have a tablet? I had the same problem, but I've got a tablet since yesterday, and now those brushes are in too.

This is really helpful! But one question, how do you make it a higher resolution?
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
kuridoki In reply to PirateVSninja [2007-11-18 02:55:13 +0000 UTC]
Hi!
Firstly, if you're working on a new file, on the dialogue box where you set the dimensions, there is another box which is labeled "resolution". You can change the value there.
If you're working on an existing file (before doing the inking) you can go to the Image size dialogue box and change the resolution as well. Please note that doing this will increase the file size and dimension, and the work will be pixelised when viewed at 100%, so only do this when you're blowing up a sketch layer.

Awesome tutorial!
But I have a question. Every other tutorial I've seen they have done the 'lowering of the opacity' and it won't seem to work on mine. It just stays the normal colour.
I really want my lines to be soft and fine like yours but everytime I try it and make it normal size from having it blown up, it becomes ugly and pixelated looking. I need help. :[

It should be alright if it is quiet big... as big as you want^^.
Like... 2-4 times it size^^.

Wow..... never thought some1 dont knew that^^.
Okay, that is like a board and a pen connected to the computer where you can draw on... almost all got "pressure" (if u press, the line can go thicker)
