Just a small banner I made for myself (and others) importing HG/SS to use in forums. Feel free!Sorry if my comments below offend you, I have nothing against people who wait for it to come out! I just have no patience xD
I already pre-ordered HeartGold as soon as I could from PlayAsia! I can't wait...
Made this because I also made one for when I imported DP ([link] ), and it brings me a lot of nostalgia. We had a club and talked about the new things we found all the time, so it was a really exciting time.
The GTS was really fun too - It was really a unique experience playing a game and feeling so connected to people around the world all playing at the same pace.
Of course it wont be the same now with emulators and roms, so I doubt we'll have an actual club...Seriously anyone who plans on just playing the rom, I will hate you. I've seen hundreds of people freely admiting they will play the rom and it makes me sick...
People like me are working hard and earning money so we can import it and it takes a while for it to arrive, so have some ***ing respect. (I never swear so this is how passionate I am about this)
I will only forgive people who play roms after its been out for a long time.

I know how you feel, man. One day after I bought Pokemon Platinum, my former roommate told me that he had been playing it on an emulator, even before it was officially released in the US! It's definitely not cool, because 1) I've paid to play this game and he's been playing it for free and 2) the developers should be rewarded for their hard work, not have it stolen from them...

Can't wait for HeartGold and SoulSilver to come out in the US. Gold and Silver were the best games in the series in my opinion. It was a time where a lot of people I knew, including me, were real excited about a sequel since the original was so good. Gold and Silver had a lot of expectations to fill and when it came out, it sure did fulfill them. It would be nice to relive that again and possibly travel in the territory where the remake is better than the original.
Anyways, real nice banner! I liked how you arranged the sprites. I've always liked your work, even though I hardly comment on them. I'll be sure to do more of that in the future. Take care of yourself and sorry for the winded response.

Oh, yeah. I think playing old roms, like SNES or GBC games on an emulator, is kind of okay. It's just the newer ones that get like you said.
I don't know any Japanese, I just know about it, if that makes any sense.

Yeah its really frustrating. I dont mind if people play roms because the games are really old and not sold anymore, but when its a new recent game...urk.
Me either! Im actually importing HeartGold and SoulSilver as I can speak japanese semi-fluent. Just a few weeks to go! I cant wait to recreate all those journeys and adventures in the land of Johto.

Yup the DS is completely region free, I have lots of japanese games that work perfectly fine on my UK DS

I bet they are going to put a Piracy codes in the game so ROMS can't be played just like Mario & Luigi RPG 3.

Really? My friend plays his Mario & Luigi RPG 3 rom fine.
I think the only ones who have been succesful in putting piracy codes were the square enix games, but even then people ended up finding a way to remove them.

the thing with roms is they were made that if you had the game the rom was a backup, like if it broke. but they're available to download with no proof needed, what the hell is that even about, like i downloaded a rom for crystal but i have the game its 99.9% done and i wanted to play it again without losing my work(about 5 years worth and 11 lv. 100s, full dex, and stuff). That is why roms are made, not for your free entertainment. its so stupid to get roms anyway really, the quality is not as good and you dont get all the benefits of the game, especially nowadays..

I'm importing Soul Silver myself. I'm just too excited to wait until the American release- plus, it's a good enough reason as any to pick my Japanese study back up. I've been hoping for a remake, since it was my favorite region, and all of the new features are just making it irresistable.

ROMS are wen you play games using emulators on your computer right?
If so, then I'm guilty of doind so, but only once.(I played to original Pokemon Red). It wasn't until after the fact I realized it was illegal.
But, I see where your coming from. Spending your hard earned cash to buy a game, while 90% of the world Pokemon fans play it via ROM is hypocritical and annoying. Though I don't see the point in doing so. You wouldn't have the full benefit of features like the Pal Park, GTS, Pokewalker, trading, wi-fi battling, etc...And thus are missing out on half the game.

HG = HeartGold, SS = SoulSilver, the new remakes of Pokemon GSC (Gold, Silver and Crystal).
GTS = Global Trading Center, a building in DPPt (Diamond, Pearl and Platinum) where you could put up your Pokemon for a trade to people from all over the world by using Wi-Fi.

Haha, okay, really expensive, but I wanted to join in the importing club fun, so I splurged a little and got Heart Gold too (since I pre-ordered Soul Silver here~!)
I found out some relatives in Asia are getting it :T and I'll feel totally left out if I don't.
So poor now though.

With the rom thing though, I really can't afford to buy every game I want to try (most of them turn out to be very disappointing) so I will put them on the flashcart to see if they're worth buying. If they are, I delete the rom and purchase it, if not, I delete the rom and never touch the game again |D;

I dont hate you! It just bothers me when people go around unashamedly talking about how theyll just get the rom and play on their flashcard.
Especially since I go to all the effort/money to import it, it bothers me when people just like, cut straight to the front of the queue kind of thing xP

I'm not into ripping, I find that it's a theft of work that other people have put so much hard work into.
EDIT: Oh, roms.. I'd hate - absolutely HATE - to admit it, but I play roms of the retired, now unavaliable games on n64 since I really miss them after I got my Wii... I feel really bad. I hope this doesn't damage our friendship though, Ky. I'll delete it if it makes you feel better :3
