Description Just a small banner I made for myself (and others) importing HG/SS to use in forums. Feel free!
Sorry if my comments below offend you, I have nothing against people who wait for it to come out! I just have no patience xD

I already pre-ordered HeartGold as soon as I could from PlayAsia! I can't wait...

Made this because I also made one for when I imported DP ([link] ), and it brings me a lot of nostalgia. We had a club and talked about the new things we found all the time, so it was a really exciting time.

The GTS was really fun too - It was really a unique experience playing a game and feeling so connected to people around the world all playing at the same pace.

Of course it wont be the same now with emulators and roms, so I doubt we'll have an actual club...Seriously anyone who plans on just playing the rom, I will hate you. I've seen hundreds of people freely admiting they will play the rom and it makes me sick...

People like me are working hard and earning money so we can import it and it takes a while for it to arrive, so have some ***ing respect. (I never swear so this is how passionate I am about this)

I will only forgive people who play roms after its been out for a long time.

I'm not importing, I plan on buying Hg and using my cousins r4 and a rom to get myself the silver exclusive, thats about it. And don't hate on rom users, I personally play roms to try out games to see if they are worth a buy. This can be usefull for some remakes.

Yeah but playing a pokemon rom is very different from other games, a pokemon game you can't just play the first 5 minutes, you have to keep going.

People who use roms are just insulting both the creators, and the fans who actually go out and buy the games to support them.

I still own my gold and silver; the original gameboy colour games, however, my game's memory deletes itself after I switch off the game. this means I can no longer save a game on them. I only played pokemon roms if I
1. own the original game,
and 2. the save/memory function is unable to work any longer due to the cartridge's age.

is this acceptable? otherwise, I prefer to invest in the actual cartridge.

Well said, and I agree 100%. I have my own importing club, but mines more used just to see what the following looks like for them, such as Tyrogue, Elekid and Riolu will be on my import list .

I have to argue with the pokemon rom thing, I grew up on the pokemon games, and I played every inch of gold and silver, and really the only reson id rom it is to get features that would either cost me a ridiculous amount of trade searching, or having to fork out 50$ for a clone of a game I already own.

Aswell as you have to look at someone intentions, for example some people rom just for free games, others like me use roms as trials for 24 hours then delete them, which is also legal.

That's not really legal, y'know, just something people made up

Actually it is, if you have it for more then 24 hours it becomes illegal, if not unless they catch you with it it cannot be called as evidence in a court case.

This is what people pirating actually believe. But in reality, the 24-hour rule was made up by pirates, lol.

There is a good deal of misinformation on the Internet regarding the backup/archival copy exception. It is not a "second copy" rule and is often mistakenly cited for the proposition that if you have one lawful copy of a copyrighted work, you are entitled to have a second copy of the copyrighted work even if that second copy is an infringing copy. [...] Therefore, whether you have an authentic game or not, or whether you have possession of a Nintendo ROM for a limited amount of time, i.e. 24 hours, it is illegal to download and play a Nintendo ROM from the Internet.

Enjoy being a PIRATE

I really only get ROMs of games I already own or can't afford. Sometimes I just like it have it on my PC for convenience reasons =/
But I'd like to get back to this piece and say it's really well done and totally cute! Let us know about all of the great new things!

No need to explain that to me, and it's still illegal anyways

So is minors watching porn on the internet, can't stop it if they're smart enough to avoid suspicion

Marina-Stalker In reply to Fluttur [2010-05-27 10:38:40 +0000 UTC]

So? How's that even related? My point that 'oops he thought it was legal but it turns out it wasn't' still stands

Fluttur In reply to Marina-Stalker [2010-05-27 11:39:23 +0000 UTC]

You seemed to be constantly making a point of the illegal aspect of it, I gathered you were looking down on people that emulate ROMS which you probably still are anyway? XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Marina-Stalker In reply to Fluttur [2010-05-27 11:57:44 +0000 UTC]

Nope, I emulate stuff myself too V: But I just felt like educating people about stuff like the 24-hour rule, as there's a lot of misunderstanding going on about it, and people use it either because they don't know better or as an excuse for not taking responsibility for their actions. And that's something i'd look down on

OH! I see now, that's all good then xD I was expecting some hardcore "Dude no it sucks you're not allowed to be poor GO GET A JOB AND BUY GAMES NOW" kinda thing, or whatever other reasons can happen. So yeah, sorry for the mix-up XD
