Old Church - Eastern New MexicoBegan my latest trip into the Southwest with a sunrise stop at an old church in a small rural New Mexico community. The old craftsmanship and architecture of the old building is always a treat to see, especially with the warm, golden sun bringing in the new day.

WOW amazing !! I went there on vacation during the summer time. I stayed in Santa Fe. I had a great experience and also the people over there are very nice that we meet along the way

I wonder about these abandoned churches, even more than the abandoned houses. When and what was the last service held here? Last wedding, last funeral? When was the last time the pastor or head deacon closed the door behind them and what were their plans for the future?

Unfortunately, it is no longer in use. The inside was empty and much of the floor, ceiling, and walls were falling apart.
