Description
Western, OklahomaAfter driving numerous miles across the country side chasing clouds and looking for subject matter to photograph, I ended up in the remnant of a corn field with this old house and its accompanying barns/sheds. The sun was setting and the skies began to illuminate with all sorts of colors. It's times like these that I fret and scramble trying to capture the mood, the colors, the light, and character of the surroundings. Many times I fail and sometimes I succeed. I'm not for sure if this one is particularly a success, but it none of the less provided an opportunity to learn more about shooting directly into the sunset while capturing the detail of the foreground objects.

This is beautiful...I love the way part of the building is a silhouette. You are an amazing photographer and I'm enjoying your gallery very much!

yeah it was sorta mentioned. If you don't do it already you should start making a habit out of bringing your tripod with you. This would have been a very cool HDR. The beauty of the situation is that you know where this place is now and you can go back during a nice sunset again and milk it for everything you can.

Nice "Contra shoot", maybe you should have tried to bracket&HDR this one, or at least do it by hand from two(sky&ground) exposures

Yeah, you are right. My foreground appears too "muddy" to me.
