This started with a dinner discussion with the people who are listed at the top of the tutorial...
Parts of this are based on real instances. God knows the notes and questions that those poor thousands-of-pageviews artists get. I pity them!
I also get really weird questions from people I don't know that are like "omg how i draw leik u??//"
No, don't ask that. Just don't.
I suppose this is also because I hate the crap that's getting posted... Stick figures rarely are art, kiddies.
This is not an attack on any one person!
It's just for fun!

This was entertaining but I really was hoping on learning how to not suck on DeviantArt...I'm not really sure what to think....And just because people like to draw stick figures it doesn't mean that they suck!! And all the spelling errors....! All n00bs don't act like that. Like meh. (: But still! I liked it but I am shocked at your mean-ness!

i'm studying art at university. just about everything if not everything can be art. what defines it as art is the intent of the creator. however i believe that dA has a lot of amateur work that i may not call art, (the only amateur i consider a crime is poorly drawn furries, with no purpose but fantasy, without improvement of art language a goal, or "myspace pictures") but the people creating it still have a place here as people who are expressing themselves and trying to improve their art making knowledge. i do not treat dA as a proper art site since there are no real restrictions on submission, even though some true artists may use it, or people who are highly skilled but not necessarily artists use it. i haven't really encountered anyone on here who claims to be amazing when they are just taking poor photographs of themselves, and i find it hard to believe, although i am not saying you are lying. i understand annoyance when people ask you how to draw, and i am still annoyed every time i see a poor escapist drawing or a cleavage shot, even though i have said i do not regard this as a proper art site. i haven't submitted work on here for a long time because i have given up on it. i am aiming to have my online presence somewhere more appropriate. i don't know what i'm trying to say anymore. maybe that because it is not a proper art site we should be more forgiving of what is submitted and the behaviour of the people.

There's a lot of people that aren't really here to become better artists but to be social... and commonly they submit hastily put together things.
Don't give up on the site. There's still awesome stuff out there. /nod
