After decades of not being discovered, the Ascended Kitvoren grew fed up with humans and their inability to thoroughly document the icy plains of Antartica, and revealed themselves of their own volition; quite literally appearing in the middle of a research camp from thin air (although it was discovered shortly after the Kitvoren had simply been invisible and did not teleport, which had been the immediate assumption of the scientists who witnessed the event). After briefly scolding the researchers, the Kitvoren allowed itself to be looked over and studied, resulting in knowledge of their dazzling plumage which helps keep snow and ice from accumulating on them, and their furry bird-like feet which help grip the ice during massive, frozen windstorms. Like an owl's, one of the foot's thumbs can rotate forward, though they tend to take a two forward, two behind position for better stability.

Although humans have yet to visit in person, the Ascended Kitvoren also announced the location of their main home- an out of place castle located on the ice, no doubt the work of Blank. However, the winds seem to get even more violent surrounding the structure, reaching nearly 300mph, and so all attempts of in-person visits have been met with failure. A tour using a Kitvoren and a GoPro camera has been scheduled.

Some of this sub-species believe themselves to be the ultimate form a Kitvoren can take, resulting in their self-proclaimed 'Ascended' status. But not every member of the Ascended is so haughty and self aggrandizing, and in fact, most of them often enjoy helping others in a more humble, if questionable, manner... even going so far as to use their scrying ability to spy on those in need in order to know how to best assist them.

Creating an Ascended Kitvoren:

In lore, all pure-blood ascended kitvoren have owl-like furred feet, small wings protruding from their bottom jaw, small wings on their back, and a feathered tail. They can also turn invisible when in contact with snow, as well as having powerful scrying abilities!

However, for a hybrid or partial ascended, only the jaw wings are required!

Lore-friendly hybrid/partial ascended kitvoren can only exist as splices, where two “parents” (ascended and non-ascended) have their DNA mixed to create an “offspring.” Kitvoren can not naturally reproduce so this is the only way it would be possible!

And yes, multi-seasonal hybrids are possible in lore :3c
