Description Snail friends snail friends

-----

Helix kitvoren are named for the spiral shell on their back, as well as their occasionally curly tails. They're the product of prolonged exposure to the Spiralling Marsh, a location that's been sealed underground for a least several decades and filled with never-before-seen plants and creatures. Scientists believe the flora of the marsh cause a reaction in other living creatures, warping and twisting their bodies over time until they are unable to move, allowing the plants and moss to slowly feed at their leisure. However, kitvoren and their strange ability to adapt, simply channel that twisted growth into a snail shell structure on their backs, keeping the rest of their body mobile and safe from deformation.

They are not totally unaffected though- their bones become extremely elastic and pliable. As a result, these kitvoren are able to almost completely withdraw themselves into their shell. Often, their skull/mask does not become squishy enough to fit completely, and their ears and sometimes tail stick out, but they do their best and it's still very impressive.

A toxic slime will also ooze from their pores (particularly from the hood on their necks) when stressed or threatened. Their saliva also become quite poisonous. But the toxicity levels are not usually lethal, they simply heavily disorient and confuse the attacker. To ease these symptoms quickly, sleep and lots of water are recommended.

---------------

Creating a Helix Kitvoren:

In lore, all pure-blood helix kitvoren have snail-like antennae, a snail shell on their back, a squishy “hood” going from the top of their head to the front of their shell, and bones that can squish and bend. They also have poisonous saliva and body slime!

However, for a hybrid or partial helix, only the snail shell is required!

Lore-friendly hybrid/partial helix kitvoren can only exist as splices, where two “parents” (helix and non-helix) have their DNA mixed to create an “offspring.” Kitvoren can not naturally reproduce so this is the only way it would be possible!

And yes, multi-seasonal hybrids are possible in lore :3c

They’re required yea
Exclusive just means you can’t use a normal mutation/corruption to get those traits, they’re only available as part of the helix bundle
