Hester bounding around on the bed is tied to something that happened to my sister, cousin, and I when we were younger. My aunt and uncle decided to have Thanksgiving at Monterey one year, so my parents packed me and my sis into the car and drove to the bay for a very cold weekend trip. The hotel we were staying at was huge, like, they had a giant brass staircase with a fancy chandelier and piano player in the lobby. Our cousin got me and my sister to join her sliding down the banister, which was a lot of fun until our parents told us to knock it off because this lady kept having to clean the railing and was getting pretty annoyed. My cousin stayed in our hotel room to "babysit" us and we all ended up bouncing across the beds pretending that the ground was the ocean instead of watching 'The Santa Clause' and our grandpa had to come to the door to tell us to stop because we were apparently annoying the neighbors. Lesson learned!
