Birthday gift for of his absolutely awesome character Grace!!!Sorry this got to you so belatedly, but THANKS SO MUCH FOR BEING SUPER-AWESOME!! AND THANK YOU FOR LOVING SAGA EVEN MORE THAN I DO, HAHAHAH!
I'm actually really quite happy with how this came out! I tested out the washes beforehand (it was still a 40-minute heart attack, that background), and the light blue wash-swirls actually turned out really well! I felt really loose and free doing this piece, and I feel like I kept that feeling throughout, even in Grace's colors and everything. This was just a really fun piece to do overall; I got to try out new techniques and it just felt so quick and carefree overall and just, yeah.
Anyway, happy birthday, ~calmnivore !!

WOAHWOOAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! THIS IS AWESOME!! Part of it's awesomeness lies in the fact that it's completely different from your dark and moody pieces (which are still super cool btw), but this is really cool because it's so bright and happy!!! * U * It really feels much more relaxed. It looks like it was easy to paint, like the watercolor fell onto the paper just the right way. I'm sure it wasn't easy, but I find the looseness charming and refreshing. x)

Hahahahah no it's fine, I understand that exactly, and I really love this piece for just that reason, the light, relaxed feel to it. It's a very hard thing for me to do, I still keep slipping back into "OCD MUST CONTROL AUGH AUGH AUGH", but I do definitely hope to be able to do more like this piece~!

Aw, this looks so free and pretty! I wouldn't know how much time you actually spent on this, but it looks like it was quick and spontaneous and I really envy that. And those coloooors.

Hmmmm, I think I might've spent about 3 hours on the painting of this, total?? It really was quite quick, I'm so happy to hear that it sounds free and spontaneous, that's something I hope to be able to do more in the future~!

I feel like making connections on dA really depends on how much you give back to the community, in terms of comments and activity. It requires more effort than some other "social" sites maybe, but, I love commenting, so... 9_9;;
