Finlay has set his quick pace for this first round thanks to his sneak attack. Scott tries to get back on his feet but to no avail, the white scotsman lays down a barrage of body blows. The assault has the black scotsman already on the ropes, soaking up all the damage; Scott begins to counter Finlay's punches with some hard hitting hooks to the body. This proved successful as he was able to halt Finlay's barrage and shoved the white scotsman off of his space. However Finlay wasnt going to give up his pre-emptive rush so easily and as he managed to recover quickly enough to lay down some hard hitting jabs to Scott's face.

Scott maneuvered around the ring to avoid getting trapped on the ropes while Finlay stalks him. The two met up again in the center and traded blows. Scott was able to lay numerous punches to his fellow kinsman but Finlay regained once again the burst of energy that allowed him to pressure the black scotsman. Finlay landed a few hard hitting body blows to Scott's gut and ribs and began working on the face. Scott tried his best but his lack of hindsight from the first blow finally caught up to him and his body caved into the barrage. As soon as things started to get bad for the ebony fighter, the bell rang finally granting him the brief respite he needed.

As soon as he let his guard down, Finlay layed one last dirty ender with a hard uppercut to Scott's head. The blow was strong enough that made his teeth chatter, and soon enough the black scotsman fell to the ground dazed. Finlay with a smuggish look on his face looked down on his adversary "Failing tae see me thro' mah punch again? am' naught here tae beat on a cloo'less lad. A'm 'ere fer a fight!".

Scott open his eyes as soon as those words reached his ears and as he slowly got up to his feet, he shot a hard look at his kinsman "Ye think ye're gaun'ae get me wi these cheap shots? Just ye wait until the next round, A'm gaun'ae hammer yer body intae the ground!"
