**UPDATE***Woah! Didn't see this coming! I submitted this piece in 2005! If you like my work, (trees in particular), please take a look at where my glass trees evolved to by clicking on my profile and seeing my featured "sky tree series". I consider those to be my most successful glass trees to date! Thanks for the DD and the comments everyone! I'll get to them all in time!
Ever since I started blowing glass two years ago, I have tried to make glass trees... This is the only one I've ever been able to make that I like... I stayed up all night creating a pedestal that would illuminate it from underneath and during the critique I used a bulb that was too powerful... got it too hot... And it cracked... The story of my life...
This picture was taken after it cracked. It has yet to break off or fall apart
I made this piece about a year ago (winter 2004)
Materials: solid and blown glass
This piece is about 20" tall

Well, that's a tough question... I really liked this piece when I first made it so I never put it for sale. The longer I have pieces though, the more I don't mind letting them go, so the price to sell a piece I've already made would be much different than the price to make a new one. I think the best reply I can give you is to take a look at my website to get an idea of what I try to sell my work for.

I love trees and this is so unique. Especially for blown glass, that had to enormously difficult. Maybe next time don't worry about the stand? Just make the tree? I'd buy one I love it.

Thanks. I've made some without any stand or base and I definitely end up liking them better with bases. Plus they are easier to make that way! It's win win!

Really, it only take a couple of hours to make. When working with glass, you have to work somewhat quickly, so you're rather limited in that sense.
