  Ok, this map originated from a conversation with one of my brothers, what would the Inner Sphere look like, if every minor nation continued until the modern day. I did set the rule that if a nation had only 1-2 planets that they wouldn't get counted if they were entirely surrounded by a single nation, so no border-gore zits.

We also set that the Periphery Powers would start off with their greatest borders, and to avoid having nations have isolated pockets away from their borders, those are just given to whomever surrounds them. I did break that rule with the Rim World's Republic, because I thought it was funny.

When that map was finished, I just started grabbing the deep periphery and dragging it over, so factions like the Hanseatic League, New Delphi, and Clan Homeworlds could also be shown.

This was a fun project and results in a interesting map to look at.

  EDIT: I redacted the rule about no enclaves, because I changed my mind. Enclave nations (ones that are completely enveloped in other nations, are now considered to be vassal/protectorate/client states. I also took the liberty to fit some short lived factions in as well, like the republic separatist groups, as I thought they were interesting enough.

  I've also converted some districts in the FedSuns into a group of individual nations, and clusters of purely independent systems in the FWL have received the same treatment.

  EDIT: I've collected the last of the Deep Periphery systems and used them to fill some of the space around the edges. I've also fixed several borders and other zones to provide cleaner viewing.

  EDIT: OK, big update, I updated my art program and it partially fried my saves of this map, so I had to redo it from scratch. It was a perfect chance to make many changes I wanted to. I hope you all enjoy.
