Description
My chibi style of DEVGRU, a.k.a Navy SEAL Team Six in Operation Neptune Spear.I was obsessed of GPNVG18 after realized the existence of the weird powerful NVG. BTW, I am obsessed of half-cut helmets and I regret I haven't bought an OPS-CORE FAST when it was available in Hong Kong.
It is drawn as a training from a break of drawing in last few months because of work and lack of inspiration. (An excuse for fail drawings

I first learned of these NVGs after seeing Zero Dark Thirty. Immediately I suspected that the inhabitants of the compound were shooting because they thought some kind of freaky aliens were attacking. Joking aside, these things are really awesome and studying military stuff ESPECIALLY Special Forces is a huge interest of mine.
Also kudos to knowing their "official" name. The way SEAL Team Six gets thrown around is, while technically true of the unit, can be annoying.

Even Delta had their official name changed several times.

Nice one! Planning to get my "Zero-Dark-Thirty" inspired loadout done by the end of this year. But damn, those NVG mounts are damn expensive in the market, and I'm not even talking the original ones here!

Yes, not mentioned the GPNVG18 replica.
But better than looking for an AN/PVS21 replica, isn't it?

Yes. I can't get rid of it even I barely watch manga now.
However people in dojinshi field don't think my works are mangaish, and weird. They think my "chibi" is a "normal" head on a "chibi" body. lol

Sorry for making you unhappy. It is my mislead(and my madness ). The comment is't referred to your reply.
Those comments came from fellow doujinshi(self-published)artists and customers when I was selling my postcards in a doujinshi convention last year.

very nice. The helmet almost looks like a MITCH 2001 or 2002 helmet.

I attempted to draw a FAST helmet with camo cover and it seems I failed

LOL dont worry about it man, it still looks amazing. Its the camo cover that really throws it off. Because the only difference between the MICH 2001 and the FAST helmet is that the MICH can come with or without mounting rails and the FAST helmet has air holes on top and looks like a biking helmet lol. I dont think that the FAST helmet has a camo cover for it though, but i could be wrong.

Yes. I have shot next to tourists from France, Germany, China and the UAE. We welcome the chance to show the world that shooting is safe and fun.
You just need an ID to *rent* a gun which is not required if you go with me.

I just don't have an AR. I have high capacity pistols and a Mini-14 but no "black rifle" yet....

Does "high capacity" mean original capacity?
You will have a black rifle for sure

Tatsumi67 In reply to lazyseal8 [2013-01-29 22:32:44 +0000 UTC]
Yes "high capacity" actually means normal capacity. My CZ75(B) uses 16 round magazines by default, and I live in a "Free state" which means I can use any size magazine I want. I also have four 19 round competition magazines for it.
And I'm not getting my hopes up for an AR15 right now, with the recent anti-gunner freak-out they are hard to get right now. I'm actually closer to buying a VZ.58 which I've wanted for a long time.

Its a better rifle than an AK.
It looks like an AK, to the untrained eye. But it is such a superior gun. It is striker fired, the bolt holds open (which to me is a big deal, its kind of the American feature) and It can actually be loaded with stripper clips directly into the magazine. There is also a thumb selector as opposed to that big safety bar on the AK.
It also features a real magazine release button, not just the lock. It has been around since 1958 and is still in use by the Czech forces. The Vietnamese Special Forces also had a number of them during the boarder war with China and prefered it over the AK.
VZ58 > AK

I heard VZ58 was slightly less reliable than AK but already good enough to be counted on. It was a well designed weapon at that era.

I've fired an RPK bone dry, neglected and unlubricated and it ran pretty well but not perfectly. A Vz58 is closer to an SKS which I trust a lot more than an AK, but I don't really like my SKS.
A Vz58 handles a lot better, it has better controls, a real thumb safety and bolt hold open. To me that is more important than crude reliability. For that matter, most guns really are not unreliable. The truly unreliable guns are never used that widely. Consider that an L85/SA80 gets a bad rap as being unreliable. The truth is that an L85 is no better or no worse than any other rifle, it just has a bag magazine catch.

Safety is very important to me too.
BTW, how much is a Vz58 sold at the US?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Tatsumi67 In reply to lazyseal8 [2013-02-04 16:42:39 +0000 UTC]
Its is very popular in the United States. Of course AKs and AR pattern guns are more popular but the Vz58 was imported by CZ-USA (The American branch of Ceska Zborjovka BRNO) as well as Czechpoint Firearms and also Century Arms Importer.
The Czechpoint ones are the best, with an original chrome-lined barrel and proper feature, the CAI rifles called CZ2008s were less refined. I believe that Indianapolis Armory imports kits and makes their own as well.
But Vz58s are also very popular in Canada, because AKs and ARs are illegal there.

but why when AK and AR are illegal but Vz58 is llegal in Canada?

Tatsumi67 In reply to lazyseal8 [2013-02-15 20:06:01 +0000 UTC]
I do not know. Those gun laws make nosense.
It comes down to a government not trusting its citizens with firearms. The idiots hear "AK" and "AR" and immediately think "EVIL BLACK RIFLE OF CRIMINALS." But don't even know the Vz58 exists.
This also happened in America recently, they tried to ban AR15s, but the Ruger Mini-14, which uses the same cartridge (.223/5.56mm) and has the same magazine capacity was never even mentioned. Politicians are idiots.
