so this is an AU where Asher is a naga and Lear is a mongoose taur.... I think i can come up with a better name for that because taur literally means bull... and a mongoose is not a bull! a Mongoose Quadruped? I'll figure something out...but anyway i'm actually trying to write this AU i'm just... not able to get unstuck for spots in the story... i mean i know what i want from it, i just can't even finish a full chapter to upload yet :T
Lear isn't actually this tiny compared to Asher, i just had an idea to draw a normal sized person with a chibi... so no, Lear isn't a small child, she's just chibi because I thought it would be cute.
Asher is a very nurturing character if he care about someone enough to invest in them... so this fits him being protective of Lear in my AU... no one is hurting his tiny bae!
my AU was inspired by dratinigirl 's story that I would highly recommend reading

Nice character design! They are interesting. Your colour palette is pretty, too! However there are some parts you might wanna improve. Your drawing will be looks more lively if you add more shading. Define your light source to make shading easier. Here are some tutorials:

The background is too plain. You can add shading around her so they won't look floating, and adding scenery. For Asher pose, you can study from real snakes photo, practice to understanding their movements, pose, anatomy, etc.

I rather like this! The colors are nice, and the interaction between the two characters is cute 
That said...
- The hands on Asher and Lear seem to be lacking fingers. I suggest you remember to draw in the fingers for the hands.
- This pic would look a lot better with a background. A forest scene, perhaps; these two are a naga and a moongoose taur
- The pic lacks noticeable shading outside the clothes; would look better if everything was shaded, not just one part.

I do like how you added the scale texture, he's like a coral snake, and for some odd moment there I looked at Lear and the animal half and was wondering what that animal was doing upside down...until I remembered it was her lower half - you could just come up with a name for them all as a species, according to google, the word "Centaur" comes from "Kentauros" who were a tribe of expert horsemen - hence half horse half man - you could ignore the "taur" and just call them something that would fit them all

DA killed my quality lol thats weird though, i thought it looked like she looked like a taur, not like she had a weasel up her butt. yes but i can't think what that is.. I think maybe Dimidium which is half in latin.. Dimidium Animali means half animal, so maybe i could fuse the two words?

You coukd call them Taurlings, but then you have the "taur" again hmmmm. Anipeds (but then it sounds like you're getting some weird pedicure. What about some made-up name that sounds good?
