Description
Well, I figured that for once I would vector something. My beautiful Porsche is not running so I couldn't go anywhere anyway. But here it is!As usual *jestercat gave me her awesome drawing talent and took my ideas and made them into the base for this vector. I did this with Photoshop CS2, a mouse, and about 5 hours here and there. I used two gradients this time, because otherwise it just didn't look as sweet. And I mean, looking sweet is the goal. Which is why some of the shading doesn't match up. Anyway, here's the story...
The Raven of Wisdom
Being of the noble French society, Pedro San Felipe knew all of the great tales of ancient magic that had immense power. Of course, no other tale but of the Raven of Wisdom could contain so much power and ability. Harnessing the mythical lore would enable the user to become a godlike figure of Arnold Schwarzenegger portions -- strength, beauty, govebernation was all at hand. But where could this magic be? Pedro San Felipe knew the city very well (as he always had to go back and forth it fetching escargot, french bread, french fries, and wine), yet still he had no idea.
And then on one evening of eating fancy smelly cheeses, Pedro came up with the idea: he would look at the local aviary for the Raven of Wisdom. Upon breaking and entering the aviary at three o'clock in the morning, Pedro stole a cage full of rare, endangered birds with hopes that the Raven would be inside. However, it was not and he was forced to eat them for dinner. Between his sobs and bites of fried Suzuki (one of the most endangered birds in the world), a 6 foot tall gold raven with particle beams for eyes landed next to him. Was this the rare Raven of Wisdom? He asked the raven, "Are you the rare Raven of Wisdom?" "No... I, uh, am not the rare Raven of Wisdom," it replied. "Alright. Thanks," Pedro exclaimed.
After the raven had left, a plain raven landed next to him. Pedro asked, "Are you the rare Raven of Wisdom?" The raven did not reply. Obviously, this was the Raven of Wisdom trying to disguise itself. He trapped the bird and slammed it into the freezer to temporarily hold it until he could secure a cage. However, Pedro fell alseep from all of the escargot and wine and was arrested the next day under charges of theft and cruelty to animals. But at least he had a frozen pet raven.
The moral of the story is that you can't always trust a 6 foot tall gold raven with particle beams for eyes because it may not be telling the truth.

These comics are really good. I suggest you use this style when you draw your vector portraits. Contrast is good.

I've always wanted to try, but I haven't made art in three years. I just don't feel it anymore.

I agree. I'll slowly die if I don't. I'm thinking an updated self portrait maybe. Mix up the styles of my traditional portraits with the style of my cartoons. Would probably be the most accurate representation of myself.

This is really nice. The colours are just fantastic and you've done a wonderful job with the piece as a whole.

I guess it can be cute if you just look at the mouse, but for some reason, I'm getting a feeling of.. fear for the poor little guy ":|" Makes me think he's hanging by a thread because the little shell he's riding on is so tiny! Doesn't look big enough for him to ride on and be able to avoid it tiping over.. so maybe that's why he's hanging on to that pencil XD Still.. one little mistake or a harsh blow by the wind and the thing could tip over ";__;" Just a chaotic sort of atmosphere in a way.. the waves look really bold, too..
But maybe I'm being too serious business XD This is still a really nice drawing, though.. and brings a sort of feeling of hole. The palmtrees and the sun are just a little bit away.. with the bright, pretty sky.. so the mouse just needs to hang on longer.. as he's out in a darker place. Is that grasshopper meant to be the Jimmeny Cricket to the mouse's Pinnochio, though? XD Gawd, I probably didn't even spell it right.
That must be one hardcore mouse, though. Epic enough to FIGHT THE WAVEEEESSS, MAANNN. No wonder he's in pirate attire. Only a pirate would be hardcore enough to do this. Whoamang.
And what a bizarre story "XDDDD" I wanted something bad to happen to the guy, admittingly.. for killing off all of those innocent little endangered birds ";_;" The monster! Oh well XD Atleast the Wisdom Raven was able to fly away unharmed.. or something.
Shuaaahhh.

That is the cutest thing. Vivid and bright colours are my favorite. And even as I hate mice, this one's too cute. I love the gradient on the water, and the hue-changing sky. <3

That is great. After sifting through all these morbid pieces on my watch, its nice to see something like this.

hmmm, what I see in the comments gotten so far is "cute" and "nice style". I can only "relate" to the second; the style is indeed nice.
And I don't think it's cute, more... horrifying, or at least something along that line.
All the big, black, sharp lines that make up the waves in the water gives it something of a scary and dangerous look.
The fact that the island is only a small one, I can't say "yay, it's gonna make it." Also the shape of the head of the rat has got a "mean" expression.
I like the perspective too, even more so than the colors, which I like a whole lot of... much
Anyway, maybe I'm just reading too much into this. I probably am, but I didn't get a sweet/cute impression from it. I like it though, only not for the reason "intended".
Real nice job

This picture looks pretty good. I love the background.
The one thing that I really like is Pedro (the rat) holding the pencil and sitting on a small boat. He looks so cute when he does that.

Heh sorry I didn't comment sooner! Anyways, I really like the gradients..they really ground the perspective I tried to create, helped it alot! Great vectoring as usual and it's always fun to do these with ya! Catch you around! And I hope your workload has gotten sufficiently lighter and that you have the "feeling" back again
