Description
Necroscope fan art. This is Theibor Ferenzy (Ferenc, Ferenzky, I forgot how his last name went, the Ferenzies have so many spellings in their lineage). He was responsible for turning Dragosani. He has been in the ground for about 400 years as punishment by an even older Vaphyri. In the first book it wasn't very clear as to what he looked like, but in the preceding books it clarified quite well, and this here is my impression. Brian Lumley is excellent at giving character descriptions and so it is extremely easy to picture and draw his characters based on his descriptions.Related content

My god I love this stuff, Necroscope is one of the most vivid and original takes on vampires I’ve ever come across. I think its brilliant how Lumley blends elements the traditional gothic vampire together with a Lovecraftian mythos, it’s a great idea. It’s awesome that there’s someone on Deviantart that’s doing something in the world of Necroscope, you’ve done an excellent job of bringing some of Lumley’s most memorable character’s to life here and my hat goes off to you for that, well done.
Theibor Ferenzy here was one of the best vampires in the series; I almost wanted to see him escape his tomb in the end. It’s a shame he died, he was a brilliant vampire.

So did I. I was kind of sad when he didn't make it. All that work, stuck there and all that planning and all that anticipation and he didn't suceed. Humans aren't that valuable, lumley could have let him lose for a while.
And I was suprized there wasn't more Necroscope art on DA.

Yeah so was I, I mean I know that Necroscope only has a cult following but still there should be enough fans out there who are interested in doing art on the subject. Question, have you done or have any plans to do a picture of Faethor Ferenczy?

Not enough description in the books of him. What made Lumelys books so great is that he went into detail of what the characters looked like in a very detailed way. All of the characters you see were drawn in accordance to his descriptions. But Feathor had very little, not enough for me to draw a picture. If I drew Feathor it would be completely from my head and not from any description. The most I have found is his hair style once or twice at different time periods, nothing about stature, face, characteristics. I have thought about drawing wraith Feathor, but that was a very limited time in the book that he was like that. I decided there just wasn't enough material to go off of.

by far Brian Lumley's vampires are some of the most memorable I've ever seen.
and this is great for Thibor A brutish thug but the vampire puts some cunning into him.

Yes, Lumley's vampire have also influenced so many other Vampire novels/movies/generes.
Except Twighlight, I wonder what poor Brian thinks of that pile of, my little pony rainbow bright, tripe.

I've yet to see a vampire series that can match Lumley's work except for possibly the Hellsing series. He's a master at his work, which is great for a blood freak lik me
Oh, have you read his Lovecraft work?

Oh yes, I have read Lovecraft. Not a fan of Helsing. I don't much like Japanese anime interpretations of western fantasy. I saw what they did to demons like Bel (a little skinny boy) and cringed. Many other western fantasy creatures are completely misrepresented and turned into skinny hairless boys who look like girls or a mech. I did like Record of Lotos Wars, theose guys seemd to be a true fan of the style. Castlevania was cool, but they all look like girls. It's really interesting to because Japanese males DON'T look like girls and I see plenty of tough loking badass asian people that are manly, but they cater to 14 year old school boys too much. Whatever happened to the days of Fist of the North Star?

I really love Hellsing because it's just so damn violent. I really don't go much for other anime vampires series with the possible exception of Vampire Hunter D, which is rather epic.

They buried his coffin IN the ground. I just showed a "cut away" version so you could see him.
