"Any questions before we do this?" Alexis asks, looking up at Dinnie.

"Just one more," Tanzanite says quickly.

The sorceress keeps her eyes on the tall Scotswoman, and smiles a little when she sees the slight look of embarrassment that can be detected above the plaid mask.

"I thought you might," Alexis replies. "But no more questions about my armor."

"But why not a skirt?" Tanzanite presses on. "You know, like one of those Roman armored ones?"

"Dinnie, do you have any questions?" Alexis ignores the purple heroine.

"You're sure we can breathe there, right?" Dinnie asks.

"Yes," the sorceress nods.

"And, even if we get separated, you can end the spell and bring us all back?" Dinnie continues.

"Oooh!" Tanzanite interjects. "Maybe just a sexy sarong? The Myzek might like that!"

"I'm ready," Dinnie says calmly, placing a strong hand on the slender witch's back.

As Alexis begins the incantation, she sees Tanzanite jump up onto Dinnie, hanging off the Scottish heroine like the masthead of a sea-faring ship. As the witch's hands begin to glow, a cloud of cobalt magic begins to pool around their feet. She cannot believe the power of the magic that she is calling up. It seems to be a bottomless well from which she draws. And then they are enveloped in the cloud. At once, the power is cut off from her once more, leaving her feeling hollow.

When the cloud begins to clear, Alexis quickly sees that they are no longer in her Sanctum. The walls around them are green-hued and seem to be made of living material, slightly pulsing membranes of alien flesh.

"Woah," Tanzanite says, seemingly at once to be at a loss for words.

And then the sound of hissing, panting, desperate breathing reaches the sorceress and she turns to see the source. They are not alone.

And we're off! I had WAY too much fun playing with effects on this one!
