My first oil painting in about a decade. I lost my mojo with this kind of work because I got fed up with always drawing comparisons with Frazetta and Bisley. It's really hard to do this kind of material without people instantly seeing the connections though, so now I'm older - and less precious - I have to say it was fantastic doing this commission, and I hope I get to do many more.Related content

Personally I'd be surprised if you don't find this picture being confused with Frazetta on a regular basis... it stands proudly besides anything he ever did.

Hey Liam,big fan of yours here...i know pretty well the feeling of have Biz's shadow on your shoulders(he's big bloke to carry around though) and know well how all these internet bullcrapping- people become so rude on their disconsidering shallow comments on one's work,most of the self proclaimed specialists have never grabbed a brush in their worthless lives,couldn't point out "the diference between Picasso and a car crash".It's obvious you've got your own(awesome)voice either painting or drawning,actually is always a pleasure find out some new work of yours cos we know something unexpected and new is coming up,just having a randomly look through your gallery one can notice how many voices you got.
About those online anoraks...sod 'em!!

You know what though? I need to get over myself! LOL! I should take it for what it is - a compliment. Years ago someone summed up my career with this sweet statement: "I fucking hate Liam Sharp. He did piss poor Judge Dredd work for 2000ad, then became a Bisley clone..." I think it's shit like this I'm still carrying around and I need to drop it and stop worrying about it.

yeah,typical of those faceless pricks on internet,they're quite rude in the comfort of their rooms and delicated as daisies at the Cons,i doubt one has ever come to you personally to shout such things.Stick up to your large audience,and definitely you've got one.Speaking by myself i was widely influenced by your art when i was just a lad struggling my way through to find my own style.Thanks a lot for that mate!!!:
