Description
Dalek drone - Hive EraScattered across the universe by the utter, destructive collapse of their command net, the remaining Dalek groups, forced to rely on reduced and localised resources, developed in different directions. While most retained the standard Dalek outline, there was significant deviant in the materials used to fabricate their casings. For the Daleks of the space-going Hive, this resulted in toughened armour of above-average density and mass.

I didn't originally plan on doing orthos of this one but it seemed a bit silly to include the variants without the base. It's just an Empire Dalek recoloured, but I felt I should put it in for completeness!
In case I haven't explained it elsewhere, I settled on this colour scheme because it seemed to fit with the comic art (which I assume was supposed to be of Renegade style Daleks). The dark green could easily look black in greyscale, after all.
[UPDATE: model improved in very subtle ways]
The Daleks remain, as ever, the official property of the Terry Nation Estate and the visual invention of Raymond Cusick. This model is mine.

You know, this could fit in between the classic series Daleks of the Classic Daleks and the Time War Daleks, as something of a transition between the two, as this picture is clearly a bit of a hybrid of a classic Dalek with Time War Dalek features.
Perhaps, if Doctor Who was on during the 1990's, then the Daleks could have looked some what like what you've done here, showing them slowly evolve into the Time War Daleks of today.
For all we know, the Daleks casing might have been some what like this before the Time War. After all, we've now learned about an incarnation of the Doctor in between Paul and Chris that we did not know about before, maybe there was Daleks like the one on this upload before the Time War.

It would be nice to think so! I intended all these designs as revisions of the existing Dalek types, but this one could certainly fit in the gap - indeed, it's meant to, based as it is on a story featuring the Eighth Doctor and far-future Daleks.

This one looks like it means business.
Doesn't look like it's much of a conversationalist though. The colour seems to suggest that this is a shoot first and then shoot again, rather than the Daleks' usual form of shoot first interrogate the remains later.

Very nice. Have you considered doing the infamous Glass Dalek? That would be way neat.

I have - I've held off because I want to get better at organic modelling before I tackle it: I'll need to build a half-mutant human head, after all!
I'll probably do it for a 'Dalek Evolution' piece when I get round to the Necros Daleks.
