The use of the materials give your work a special structure.

It looks a bit like the old paintings in caves.

I like it very much, Neil.

Thank you, Ans!

I appreciate your words, a lot, almost to the point that I /might/ do some work on an unfinished painting I have had on the studio wall for some time.

I'm interested in cave painting/tablets/hieroglyphs/ and the beauty in decay/entopy...

Thank you so much for your interest!

Neil, your work is full of concept and meaning, and so wonderfully organic! I have enjoyed going through you gallery once again, seeing your new work. It is never a disappointment! And this particular piece is beyond words. Striking, moving, yet strangely beautiful.

On the thumb it reminded me of a large shrimp boat, with all those poles (cast/lures) set out...but on large view it is definitely has the feel of an isolated island city (white roundness underneath reminds me of a city built on an iceberg)
A harbor port perhaps with lots of boats..(boats) many ideas all afloat, casting out things here & there (poles), seeing what will bring in the catch (love, money, success...).

Wow...what a vivid comment...I can see what you mean.
I love the isolated city idea, I had this in mind off and on throughout the painting of this, and the "many ideas all afloat" is just poetic, hopefully I will catch something good!
Thank you once more Gloria for a wonderful and much appreciated comment!

I love your art because it is so organic!! It could me a fantastic insect... I love the contrast between the softness of the colour and these agressive textures

yes, I can alomost feel it physically....there is such an intensity in your strokes here....the middle, darker part (esp. on the right) reminds me of a city skyline.....a city in a state of defence....
an intense painting
