Description Event342 "Texture Study"
-
12" x 9"
-
Limestone Dust, Oil, Gold Dust, Laquer on Canvas

This submission is (on my monitor) the actual size of the painting.

A few things to say about this one, I'll try to keep it short. For those watching my work on a regular basis you will notice that this 'deviation' has a full view, which is the first in my gallery. Up until now I have been relying on my camera phone to catalouge my paintings, but...

...I now have a digital SLR in my arsenal to play with and have been experimenting with said tool, hence this submission. It's not a recent piece (those astute enough might have spotted the lower event number) but a texture study from a while ago, but I thought it worthy of posting. Hope you enjoy!

One other thing...if there is anything in my gallery that anyone wants to see in better quality (providing they have not been sold) then let me know and I will update if I can.

yes.
i think sometimes it doesn't catch right away.

it's interesting...sometimes one piece will open up all pieces.
other times its a thread or connection of pices that speak an open all pieces.
i cant say why i didnt see so much right off
but..not true....i did. i guess i just didn't connect to them all..or you get burnt--see a few-stop-go back-or lose it...you know?
all in all-seeing work in life is IT. all sat it-so yeah yeah. but...your work is rich--and again-there is that texture and marking-true-you may not see 15 feet away-or whatever...but--same can be said for all work. you see different things from different views (live) like w my "osych hosp"-up close there is so much unseen on here-even in life--15 ft away-gets lost too--so-it may be-a good or bad thing. if you are really into the persons work-you may tend to stand in varies places for quite some time-and then the next-and even return -as it relates to something in what you just saw,,,
sorry-this is the stuff i love-taking about work. not this "oh nice"-thats ok-but...i wish there was a site where iet was tighter.

all good points...i find your words very interesting to read, please don't apologise for writing so much.
i recognise so much in what you say, i dont feel much like writing so i apologise for the lack of dialog but know that i greatly appreciate your passion and integrity. it's rare to know someone who is so -there- and aware of all the important aspects, questions and appreciation of art. i am so happy that you can see my work, there aren't any sites that i know of better than here...this place was originally a convenient way to catalog my work, but on rare occasion something like this happens...for which i am grateful.

now whats this da>???
i wrotew a reply to this.
i guess they are sick of me no!?
yes--i also meant to wel-stall-but also hear occasional words. then it got too weird. now i feel free again and stick with my new reason i am here-
put up work and have few friends and hope thiss will make for more dialogue--and siliness--but--i got too lost in too many...i couldnt keep up--and you ilil-so many others--how do you keep up and keep real? or--maybe it is just storage and the general -lightness of being- here heeeheeeee (i borrow a great!)

da yes!
i keep it real by letting it happen and not forcing it....if i have to stop or leave this place for a while i do, which is difficult sometimes but necessary.

Love the colours in this.

And just a little note, the Kodak Z710 isn't a DSLR. It's just a fancy Kodak camera.

Flawless texture work. The depth is remarkable, and the way that the chosen tones have been blended together is something else that I am particularly fond of. It has a strong sense of weight, or pressure. Good stuff.
