Description
This is a test project for an idea I had to do an animation to explain my Space Marine Chapter's fluff. The "Welsh" text is a temporary joke, as this is very much inspired by the animation on the 1980 TV version of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. That text will eventually be replaced and this is very much work in progress.More info on my Chapter - [link]
Soundtrack is "Turtle" by British Radiophonics - buy their stuff - it's awesome!

I don't know about that, by proper British do you mean the English? Technically the Welsh are the 'proper British', they're descendants of the original Britons. The English on the whole don't particularly dislike any of the other nations of the British Isles, generally the dislike goes the other way, mostly the Scots and Welsh dislike the English but generally that's not an entirely serious or genuine dislike for most. As for the Irish, I'm Irish, and even though it's 100 years since the Proclamation of Independence we all get along most of the time. Again, where there is animosity it would be the Irish disliking the English rather than the English disliking the Irish. Northern Ireland is another matter of course, that's just complicated. Sorry, waffled on a bit there.ย

Well the line from hitchhikers is the same as I mentioned but is about space being big. My space marine chapter is based on welsh mythology so it's just a play on that. It's not really a joke per se.

Oh man, I really enjoyed the Welsh joke, it works well in context, even if it is Douglas Adams inspired.

Thanks very much It is temporary text but I thought as the animation style is based on the H2G2 TV series why not borrow directly from the text

You know, I've never actually seen the TV series. Maybe I high time I started, eh?
Still, just thinking at 40K imperial soldiers speaking Welsh cracks me up.

It's a little hit and miss in terms of aesthetics, the radio series is still my favourite incarnation, but the animation is superbly iconic

Maybe subtley, but as I said this text is only temporary, generally it will only be in the style of the animation and the guide visuals with original text and art

Thanks for all the comments everyone, I really genuinely appreciate them FPS on this one is either 24 or 26 (pretty sure it was 24), I'll double check lol, the "Cogitator Interface" is definitely 28 but with much smaller movements frame-to-frame than this one.
Haha, it is unashamedly stolen from Douglas Adams And the animation style is based on that of Rod Lord's for the 1980 Hitchhiker's TV series.
As for an Irish planet, maybe I'll do that next My nan is from Wexford so I'll get her to write the text in gaeilge for me

That'd be Tanith. Though maybe Tanith is just all-around Celtic.

Yeah, it's not too easy to pick up on, but it's there. The blue tattoos, dark hair with pale skin, and pipes are sort of general celtic things about them. Of course, as they pick up Verghastites and such, they become less so.
