Description
Rumor has it that Mass Effect 4 will have 4 different versions like Pokemon does. Each game being it's own separate timeline, and it's own unique story and characters and missions. You'll encounter black holes and you can trade weapons and characters through them, much like Pokemon.
EA might take heavy flak from this, but they will say Nintendo did it first. Blame them.

2 years later. It is not the game you thought it was going to be.

Just because it has the name Andromeda does not make this prediction false, yet.
We'll just have to wait and see when it's released.

This is extremely unlikely, as four different versions would mean a lotΒ more programing, this means more work, more time, and more money poured into the project. So in order to compensate Bioware would have to either charge $100 for the games, sell them separately (in which case they'd just be 4, 5, 6, and 7), or reduce the lengths of all these version to a very unsatisfactory amount.

Or it could be the same game and just a few different missions on the different versions and different endings for the different versions.
Examples:
Destruction: the geth and reapers are destroyed, but now the living life forms are racing to reverse engineer the reaper technology.
Synthetic: everyone is basically at peace, but everyone is still racing to get get reaper technology.
Control: Humans are controlling reapers and everybody else is jealous and want to control the reapers also. This leads to another war.
Rebellion: Living organisms return to the surface and begin rebuilding, the war with the reapers has left bits and parts of reaper technology. The next time we face them, it will be a more balanced fight.

Honestly...this would have me back on the ME bandwagon. $ different games that actually acknowledge the changes in the universe? My god, I'd be so down.

My money's on it being a prequel because it means Bioware doesn't have to dictate which ending was the 'correct' one but it would also be far far less hassle for them to make than 4 separate titles... Don't get me wrong though, it would be completely awesome if they did go for something like this, but I just think they probably wont because it would make more commercial sense from Bioware and EA's perspectives to do a prequel. They kind of wrote themselves out of continuing the story by allowing the player to choose the ending. Just think in terms of practicality; the rebellion ending would be creating an entirely new universe cycle with completely new races and locations and histories. They might as well make a different space game because it wouldn't really be the 'Mass Effect' universe that fans love. That's the extreme example of course. If they were to go with the other three, I guess they could set it far enough in the future that the mass relays etc. had been rebuilt (destruction) or where the universe had settled itself again following synthetic and organic integration or reaper subjugation (synthesis and control) so those three could be similar, but I still don't see Bioware and EA making completely separate games.

I see Destruction as being like Rebellion but not as bad.
Synthesis and Control are the better endings.
So in reality there would only be 2 types of games with each type of game having 2 coats of paint.
With Destruction I see it as another arms race, among the species still squabbling for resources and influence.
Rebellion, life gets a second chance. Global restart. The Reapers have their way with the populated planets and then leave because they are bored. Reapers gather back at the meeting point and wait for the organics to rise again. The reapers grow old and frail over time, the next time the organics and others face them it will be an easy win. The organics come out from their shelters and start anew, their histories forever stained by the unwillingness of one person
Control leads to jealousy for the control of the Reapers because of how powerful they are.
Synthesis leads to a perfect balance and the universe coming together to face an even greater threat.

It's weird because, unless the writers are very careful, the three possible outcomes of ME3 mean that you effectively have to write different ME4 games for each sequel depending on the final choice the player made in ME3. Although, I suppose you could have the tracks reunite up-stream.

Though one good point is that if you choose ME4 Destruction, which i am assuming goes off the destroy option, With the whole Shepard breathing thing could a possible cameo be in order?

i hope this isn't true. it would make more since if the "Mass effect 4" gave you a option at the start of the game. but not make it 4 games. that would be the dumbest thing bioware and EA would do since project 10 dollars........im going to hope that the next game is going to take place in the future and we can import our Shepard and see what happens. Although I keep reading that whatever the next Mass Effect game is, its most likely going to be on the next gen consols. And i dont know how the can import from a last gen to a new gen.
its probably easier for Bioware to make the next game a prequel. what ever it is i just hope its not going to be four separate games.

so you are saying you want less content? That makes no sense my friend.
Mayhaps they will be digital and not on a disc. $20 an episode.
WHAT A DEAL.

I REALLY hope that isn't true, because if it is, it'll be hella expensive. Sorry, but I'm not spending 240 USD on ME4. No way in hell. And I'm a huge fan, despite the ending. ME just isn't worth that damn much.

Who said they were going to be on physical discs? Certainly not I.
They could do digital for $20 each.
Wouldn't that be optimal?

That's still a bit much for a game that should be on one (or in this case two-three for content) disc. And considering that BW has stated that ME4 isn't going to be ME4, that it's going to happen in the ME universe, but completely removed from Shepard or Shepard's team, I I doubt that they're going to do your suggestion. It was an interesting suggestion, but extremely wishful thinking, since BW seems insistent that Shepard is now dead and gone.
Still, it was a creative idea, and I give you props for coming up with it

ME2 Shep dies and comes back,
ME3 Shep dies and comes back.
I think that's Shep's thing now... he's the "Kenny" of videogame legends.
I don't think you understand. They are all completely different games with different places to go and different characters.

You make a sound point, if it weren't for BW's latest release about the game, stating specifically not to call it ME4, because it is not a continuation of Shepard, or any of Shepard's crew.
Which seems pointless to me, but hey, it's EA's game now, so they're free to kill the franchise as they wish, unfortunately. I would've loved nothing better than to see the aftermath of ME3 actually played out, but it seems it is not meant to be.
