Description
Headcanon that Blake was once really good friends with Ilia and Ilia was the only one who understood why Blake ran away.I assume this mainly because of the clear conflicted tone when Ilia says "You shouldn't have come back", and the look on her face when she was retreating.
By no means do I believe that she was afraid of Blake's skill, or the fact that she was outnumbered. Sun was incapacitated, and she had no reason to run.
She didn't want to kill Blake. Because Blake and Sun had spilled the beans on Adam's actions to Ghira, Blake was an enemy now, and Ilia knew that. Sooner or later, the White Fang would order a hit on her. But it can't be her. She can't possibly kill her old friend.

Yeah, Ilia and Blake definitely have history. Looking at how Blake acted when she realized that it was Ilia, but also that Ilia could never bring herself to strike Blake directly, I can only imagine that they were once close friends but had a falling out when Blake decided to leave. Ilia seems regretful of it, and misses her old friend, but Blake seems like shes angry at Ilia and sees her as another WF fanatic.
Id love to see these two in their early days, or see Ilia decide that Blake was right and defect as well.
