The morning was crisp with low hanging fog hiding between hills and mountains from the glaring sunlight when the four Tokotas that had slept near the bank of a shallow river awoke. The last obstacle they needed to pass through – the towering mountains – were finally within view.

Not feeling any urgency, each Tokota went about their morning routine. Sedna stretched her stiff limbs to loosen up for the trek ahead while Mauja simply yawned and rose, ready to go. Circe walked a little ways into the water, letting the chilly mountain water wake her more, where she dipped her head for a drink. Not interested in wetting her paws, remained on the dry riverbank to get her own fill of water. Once the two quenched their thirst, they joined Mauja and Sedna – following the river the rest of the way.
