Atoya came to believe that the blood trail they followed seemed so bad because it had soaked into the ice crystals and spread in that way. After all, how could something be so wounded and walk so far?The wild Tokota seemed to be growing irritated and Truly more skittish. The little toki was naturally shy but now her tail seemed to be plastered beneath her body. Something dangerous had to be looming nearby.

I just really wanted to point out how well you captured that visual journey/movement in this piece in particular. That saturated red looming on the other side of that ridge is so ominous-- you just KNOW what they're looking for is so close, and I absolutely love the tension this piece brings.
