I finally finished the texture tutorial! Please enjoy!If there are any clarifications needed, give me a holler.
IMO, using PS filters to create textures (which could also be extended to patterns) does not look very good at all. I would avoid using 100% digitally created textures if possible.
I forgot to mention this, but the organic stamp in the Photoshop brush example is a lemon wedge.

Amazing and really helpful, since I'm not very good at drawing backgrounds and I never know what to do with all the white space! <3 I never thought to make my own non-digital textures~ x3 so thanks so much for the tutorial as well as the inspiration!
