Another drawing for Heather Remaly's Ghosts Of Babylon , which WILL be continued! (I AM EXCITE)In the story -- and I don't think it's spoilery to say this -- Gabriel brings Audrey up to a cave high in the mountains where he sews up her cuts and sets her broken leg and such. When she has enough strength to be bitching about anything, he tells her she's not going to be leaving the cave, ever. He intends to bring her everything she needs, but keep her away from other humans altogether. At that point I had to step away from the computer and go punch some walls. I just started thinking of all the ways I'd try to leave, broken leg be damned.
Clearly things get better between the two, but not before they get considerably worse. He loves her, but to Audrey he's just a violent, possessive giant who doesn't know how to find clothes that fit her.
I don't usually bother with backgrounds or complicated shading, and I'm no Chris Van Allsburg, obviously, but this turned out pretty okay. Audrey surprised me again with her attitude. This is a girl who's not afraid to punch an archangel even when she can't stand up on her own.

I guess I'm way behind on the comment boat, but I love love love Audrey and Gabe's body language. I'm still trying to workup the courage to read the story. Maybe on a rainy day. Though I've heard nothing but good things, I'm still an angst pie scardey cat

Honey, I totally understand your hesitation, and if angst ain't your thing, I don't recommend the story. You can still enjoy the drawings and all even if you don't read it. Stick to the sweetness. There's lots of it! My friend Lorna has been working on her own Gabe/Audrey story with the intention of writing something that feels good, and so far it is amazingly sweet. I'll point you in its direction once she puts it up somewhere!

Thank you! I mean, I do feel insanely bad for not diving in-usually I eat up a good story. But I guess what has me feeling guilty is I know how it feels to be on the writer's end of the deal. One of these days I'll be brave.

After seeing this, I couldn't help myself, I had to reread it... sighh.
I had electric president's Nightmare no. 5 or 6 on repeat this time. There's something about it, hollow and weary and still a little gentle that, to me, just fits.

I'm going to have to go look that song up. Despite the natural shape of Durand's mouth which always looks vaguely like a smile, I don't think he's smiling here. He's pretty bummed out. But if you see a hint of sile, there's a hint of optimism, and I always love that. C:

Iiii... It depends on what you're watching it for, I guess. It's a laughably bad movie, but scenes between Michael and Gabriel the angels are really wonderful. If you want to see creepy monsters, there's some of that too, just for fun. I'd say it's worth watching once, if you don't expect it to be great.

The shading is wonderful. I love the shadows stretching towards the viewer, and the way we can see the outline of her legs through the dress. :]

Does she? I actually hadn't noticed that at all. The lighting in the movie is so weird, I actually can't tell if she was supposed to have very dark hair or kind of light brown, so. Confusion is understandable.

This is pretty and I really like the way the garment hangs off her.
Also, it's rounding 4:30 AM where I'm at, and you have me wanting to start reading something that sounds soul-crushingly good. And I just re-watched Legion yesterday, which increases my desire to read it.

Maybe Audrey's faith isn't strong enough.
The stronger your faith is, the easier it is for you to recgonize angels as humble beings who are here to help you.
It doesn't matter how worse things get: if Audrey has faith, she can overcome anything.

It might be easier for her if the first angel she ever met hadn't shot her mother through the forehead with a Glock, and the second hadn't K-O'd her with a fist. I'm betting faith's tough when God sends his angels to basically take you out.
In the world as it is, I have enough trouble keeping any kind of faith, so. I'm definitely not going to judge her. And this is just about the last discussion I want to have.

My faith doesn't include a hierarchy of angels and demons, so I wouldn't know what angels are actually supposed to be like. I just really liked this story, and I kind of sort of liked this really lame movie which included angels shooting guns. I would never, ever aim to make any kind of religious statement, because that stuff is seriously tiresome to me. And if it makes you feel any better, if I did believe in actual angels, I don't believe they would bother with guns.

Since I'm a Catholic, I kind of expect people to approach the concept of angels from a religious point of view.
Someone recently made a group of drawings about the Seven Deadly Sins, and he definetly approached the subject matter from a religious point of view. I guess I was expecting something like that.

You are not only an amazing artist, but you have excellent taste in fanfiction! 8D I have read this and Louder Than Thunder and I loved both, but I haven't watched Legion XD I don't think I want to now, since it might effect my enjoyment of the fanfics. I hope you make more such things, the pictures really invoke a lot of emotions and do a great job of drawing you in
