brilliant!
What's going on there?
I mean, riot on which occasion? Haven't watched the international news for a while...

Staged . . . and not a natural looking picture at all, sorry! My suggestion: take a more natural photo and then I might reconsider.
P.S. Geez, can the girl suck the guys face off any harder? It looks overexagerated and dramatic with all the setup in the background.

Be careful. You could be banned for making all the comments you left here on a DD pic. You are not supposed to criticize DD's. The artist didn't ask for the the DD and therefore didn't ask for criticism. It is not very kind of you to do what you've done here. Please read dA's rules again.
For the record, in case the artist reads this, great photo and congrats on a well-deserved DD!

dinowrawr In reply to mkXmankiller [2009-04-26 01:28:37 +0000 UTC]
No it's not D: Posting your work on dA is more to share with people than beg for criticism. 'Specially when it's such as this. Criticism should be more about leveling it out- constructive criticism-- he's practically bashing the deviation the way he's doing. Plus- bouncing from person to person that has said that they liked the deviation-- telling them it's flaws- is just rude ):

You really think so? I can say the same thing about your attention span to realize that this picture is poorly taken AND that I was NOT going against the Suggestor on making it a DD, NOR did I say this should have NOT been a DD!
What I DID say is that the picture looks staged, unnatural, AND that the next shot he/she takes (the Artist here) should look a bit more NATURAL! So before getting onto me like flies on shit, rethink what you are saying because I have already did my homework here and KNOW what I am saying!

dinowrawr In reply to PeacefulSoul [2009-04-26 00:48:17 +0000 UTC]
Okay see- I'm getting the sense that you're actually lashing out and in a way yelling at me in these things.
I never said that you said you thought that- I threw that in assuming that maybe it may be there so we could get it out in the open. Never did I shove those words in your mouth.
All you're doing tho is tearing it down. There was no levelness in your "critique" (Even tho it was very rude of you to critique this piece in the first place seeing how it was not asked for)
There is no "homework" to cover when you're just being a jerk about this. Why don't you aim your "critiquing skills" towards people that ask-- that BEG for it and never receive it.. but remember not to be such a jerk about it and add something nice about the picture- even if it's "Oh, well the background looks nice- if this is staged, I can actually believe that the soldiers are there for a reason and not just there for a photo shoot." or something.
Look.. artist to artist here.. me- to you-- not as anyone jumping all over your back about this-- you have lots and lots of poetry in your gallery. A lot of nice poetry for that matter. But if someone came in and tore your poetry down without you asking for critique- wouldn't you feel somewhat offended? Hurt? You worked really hard on that. Even if someone just told you "Well everything is placed awkwardly in your structuring and it just flat out sucks- you should do better on your next one" (granted you didn't use those exact words-- wouldn't you feel a little wounded? You have to think about the sensitive people too-- not everyone is a hard ass like you (no offense)
Btw, you do have great work in your gallery- try not to get banned and have to start over. It's a hell of a move- and to get all your friends back just seems like it would be aggravating.
You seem like you've said your piece, why not just leave it at that?
And another thing- resorting to insulting people (or their attention spans) never really gets you anywhere ):

PeacefulSoul In reply to dinowrawr [2009-04-26 01:02:13 +0000 UTC]
One more thing, do you know WHY my work in my Gallery is good? Because of critique. Without critique I would be NOTHING. FACT!
That is how a true Artist takes things by taking critique.
Many people may NOT ask for critique, but let me ask you a question, and ask yourself this: does it hurt?
Think about it.

dinowrawr In reply to PeacefulSoul [2009-04-26 01:11:58 +0000 UTC]
YES! Yes, it does. It's hurt my feelings a number of times. When I was younger, I would spend days on something that I thought was colossal. I was so proud of it. Then, when I posted it- all I wanted was a few nice things said about it-- but all it ever got was torn down. My heart was broken- and I stopped drawing for a few years. I am my own worst critic now and that's all that I need. Some people don't have that luxury- but you have to understand that some people can't handle it like you can.
Some people, it hurts.. some people just don't ask for it. This is why I'm taking up for them. Now that we've gotten this far into this- I don't think it really matters to me if the artist would have not cared or not. I'm actually worried about other people that you may be crushing. You should really consider other people's feelings before bluntly telling them what's wrong with something. Why not just offer your advice to someone instead of just flat out saying it first.

PeacefulSoul In reply to dinowrawr [2009-04-26 01:17:42 +0000 UTC]
I do not worry about other people, it's a big DRAG from my experience. Neither do I care what anyone says, thinks, about my opinion because as a HUMAN BEING I can say what I want, especially about a piece of artwork.

dinowrawr In reply to PeacefulSoul [2009-04-26 01:24:49 +0000 UTC]
But don't you ever get tired of the drama? People getting upset with you- threatening to report you- banning you from their page- because I'm sure you've had this more than just now.
And freedom of speech is a privilege, we use it with care and try to respect other people-- and I'm sensing a big lack of that from you ): Why wouldn't you want to respect someone's time on their work as they respect yours-- like I said in my last response- you didn't include anything really nice in those. And you jumped from comment to comment telling everyone else about it like you were looking for a fight ):
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
PeacefulSoul In reply to dinowrawr [2009-04-26 01:29:44 +0000 UTC]
I do not care about other people anymore, I am a loner. And no I do not get tired of it because it thrills me and is an entertainment to dispute against their stupidity -- in this case, going against me because of the WAY I do things or the WAY I critique or because of whatever it IS. Regardless of what it was that caused this, I simply DON'T CARE!
And actually, I DID respect HIS/HER work. I respected it by taking MY TIME in making a SUGGESTION that the picture should look more natural looking. WHY NOT take this up to other people and argue with THEM! There are comments on here JUST like mine. Even before I got here.
Why am I getting so aggressive? Because you say you understand my ODD WAYS of DOING when you DO NOT understand. What you called bashing was my way of helping and saying, "HEY, this here does not look right!"
If there is a problem with that, go to Hell!

dinowrawr In reply to PeacefulSoul [2009-04-26 01:37:15 +0000 UTC]
You said that you have 90% of the people in this deviations comment section arguing with you-- isn't that enough to take a hint?
And if you didn't care about other people- why bother with critiquing.. the way I see it- something's bothering you and you take it out on other people's art to make you feel better. It doesn't matter if it helps you in the end- you've said something that makes you feel bigger about yourself and it makes you feel better. Tell me how far away I am.

PeacefulSoul In reply to dinowrawr [2009-04-26 01:40:48 +0000 UTC]
That was an overageration. If you did the math, there is actually an equal, if not more that agree with me that the picture in some way is a little OFF.
And when I said I did not care about people, I meant -- in this case, that anyone who goes against what I did (which was critique this Artist, which I DID) that I care NOT what they say to me going against it in any way, shape, or form!
And at that last part, you are way off! I actually enjoy getting things STRAIGHTENED out with people because I find it funny how much misinterpretation is here from you to me about my ways or whatever you dislike about me.

I'm not trying to psycho analyze your personality.. I'm saying that it sounds similar to what other people do. e.e
If I were to do that- I'd tell you that you're a total jerk stuck in your ways and won't bend for anyone even if your life depended on it and I'm willing to bet that you have a hard time keeping friends. But that would just be mean of me to say.. And possibly incorrect. Or you could just lie about it so you could continue to think that you're right in every way and try to convince other people of that as well.. what is it with you and that quality?
I mean- I'm not complaining too much about it- I'm continuing the argument as well- but several times now you said you weren't going to bother with me but you continue.. why.. is this what you wanted? Did you want to start an argument? Are you just seeking them out in a bigger area that can be seen easier? Something that isn't as obvious as on the forums?

I keep going on with you about this because I wanted to show you I DO help people and people have thanked me for things. I am a harsh critic and many have not liked me before, but then they come back and say, "Whoa, that was a cool idea, thanks!"
And no I do not have a hard time with friends. I have a hard time with people like you doubting me.

1. First off, the homework thing is an old expression.
Like I said, I do not CRY like a little infant if someone does not like my work and I DO get people who are MORE rude than I ever thought of being. So no, I DO NOT get hurt, etc. because I have proper education to TAKE critique no matter how harsh it is. When I state something like: other Artists should get over the dislike of critique, I meant it whether one suggest it or not.
I do not think you read that part thoroughly because if you did that would tell you how 'I' take critique, and I take it good.

Just because you've had experience with it and became hardened from it doesn't mean that others need it. That's very ignorant of you to think ):
