Oh my living GOD! Are you serious?! I am sorry, I just HAD to say something. Do you have no head? EVERYONE can use critique.

I have never read such a stupid thing in my life. I am not an ignorant person at all, infact, if I did not CARE I would have never bothered trying to HELP this Artist in the NEXT shoot he/she makes!

dinowrawr In reply to PeacefulSoul [2009-04-26 01:20:30 +0000 UTC]

But there is an order to thinks for a reason- one order being which critique wasn't asked for- therefore, it was not wanted. If you did care- you would have been nice enough to compliment something,/i>, at least. It was almost as if all you were doing was tearing it down. Look, no matter if you ignore me and delete my comments from here on- just remember that it does hurt some people. You see things that I see-- things that I keep my mouth closed about because I've been there and it hurts me-- but if you're going to point them out- at least be a little more sensitive about it. It just sounds like you're bullying people.

PeacefulSoul In reply to dinowrawr [2009-04-26 01:23:01 +0000 UTC]

That is a matter of YOUR perspective. Other people, if you have read other comments, agree with me. EVEN before I ever came on the page there were comments I saw SIMILAR to mine. I was not trying to tear anything down. What you call TEARING DOWN was my way of helping in a FIRM way.

When I critique I DO NOT suggarcoat anything or try to be NICE. I get STRAIGHT to the point and TELL IT LIKE IT IS. I have a 'Tell it like it is' personality and many people do not like it. But you know what? O' well!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

dinowrawr In reply to PeacefulSoul [2009-04-26 01:32:38 +0000 UTC]

But some people can't HANDLE the firm way. What would really work is constructive criticism.
But now that I come to think about it-- how in the world can you critique someone's photo that was taken in a once in a life time situation? It's not like they can go back and get the same people to redo it and make it better.
That's not the point-- the point is that you're being a little mean about this whole situation. Maybe people broke you down and were douche bags to you about your art-- if that's the case, I'm sorry you had to go through that even if it DID help you- but some people just don't respond to that as well as you can.
So saying I TELL IT LIKE IT IS or the fact that you bend to no man- it just does a lot of reflecting on your part : /

PeacefulSoul In reply to dinowrawr [2009-04-26 01:34:47 +0000 UTC]

Actually, no, I have ALWAYS been this kind of person -- the tell it like it is, and it simply will not change. What can I say, sorry?

No. Because it is not good enough that's why. Instead this arguement will continue to no end, which by the way I do not mind. I done writing my poetry for today.

Your way of trying to send me this link after I have denied it is a dumb way of approach. I have already read this in the past. Get this STRAIGHT, I, and a number of OTHER people DO NOT care about ALL rules and regulation on this site because some of them are just stupid!

If I want to say something about a DD, I will!

Um, do you mind NOT making a scene on the DD please? You're taking it a bit too far. Your opinion was fine but this entire... yelling festival you're carrying on is extremely uncalled for. Thank you very much.

So you really do stop, I will tell you i didnt stage anything. This photo is as it happened on the steet, in the middle of a protest just before it got out of hand.

PeacefulSoul In reply to liquidroot [2009-04-28 17:41:31 +0000 UTC]

If you cannot take critique forget about Art if you have been reading what I wrote, FOR YOU! All I suggested was for it to look more natural, AT LEAST the kiss.

NOTE: I make suggestions NOT force them, and whether you take them or not is your choice! If you do not like it then I will be more than happy to compromise with your answer and leave it at that.

If you do not in the slightest take my suggestion in consideration in any way, shape, or form so be it. Awesome. It was only a suggestion anyways. It was those who wanted to challenge me that I got into an arguement about AND its OVER.

P.S. IT'S TIME TO MOVE ON FOLKS. THIS DISPUTE IS OVER.

OneFreeInternet In reply to PeacefulSoul [2009-04-28 18:40:27 +0000 UTC]

-_- this is not apologizing like you promised.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PeacefulSoul In reply to OneFreeInternet [2009-04-28 19:38:26 +0000 UTC]

I can't change the tone in who I am and be perfect about it. I just like to get things in a firm way so everything is set and stone the first time.

I'm sorry, really. People take me the wrong way as being mean when all I am doing is being firm about things. There's a difference between being angry and firm. I've always been like this.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OneFreeInternet In reply to PeacefulSoul [2009-04-28 20:13:47 +0000 UTC]

but you still didn't stand by your word to apologize, as 'firm' as you say you are. :/

I'm disappointed, to say the very least about it.

whatever anyone does about this, i wash my hands of it, not sticking up for you anymore.

PeacefulSoul In reply to OneFreeInternet [2009-04-28 20:17:12 +0000 UTC]

If someone feels froggy and superior over me to ban me because of the way I am, fine. It just goes to show how misunderstanding both viewpoints are, that includes mine, too, because neither me nor anyone against me are clicking very well to understand each other.

So yes, I agree, it is best to wash our hands because it is time to move on!

OneFreeInternet In reply to PeacefulSoul [2009-04-26 03:45:55 +0000 UTC]

Seems I was an hour too late, indeed. It's better it turned out that way, it's never good to attract the eyes of staff... if you know what I mean.

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

PeacefulSoul In reply to ??? [2009-04-25 19:53:30 +0000 UTC]

So be it, let me be banned. It won't be the first. And by the way, the last forum I read said that only subscribers have the critique option and those without it do not get the benefit. I did not know whether he/she was a subscriber or not, so I criticized anyways; and if that is a problem, O' damn well!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sandy33311 In reply to PeacefulSoul [2009-04-25 21:06:13 +0000 UTC]

Well, that's why I was telling you. That critique option is when the Deviant requests it and there is a specific area to give a formal critique with a rating system and everything---IF it is requested. As far as DD's, here is a link that might help you. [link]

If you would put yourself in the place of the DD recipient and think about how good you'd feel that attention was brought to your great work and then have someone come along and say things about it, especially things that aren't true, then you will know why there is a rule about that. It just puts a damper on the joy and surprise the recipient must be feeling. Thanks for listening.

PeacefulSoul In reply to Sandy33311 [2009-04-25 21:45:15 +0000 UTC]

Regardless, people are going to say or critique on what they want and there is no stopping it. I do not care if they ban me or anyone else 100 times for doing so, it isn't going to stop just for them.

I may be critical, I will admit, but maybe for the Artist it might be for the better, because really, the kiss and the open eyes thing is a poor capture.

You or anyone else can call it a matter of opinion, but a fact is a fact!

PeacefulSoul In reply to pralinkova-princezna [2009-04-25 18:53:27 +0000 UTC]

At least someone around here notices it other than myself. Of course the Artist is not going to come out and day it was staged because he wants everyone to be awestruck thinking it is 100% natural. It is far off from being 100% natural. My conclusion, it had to in some way, shape, or form be setup because you are not going to get these results out of the blue. Period Amen!

I also have to agree, if her eyes were closed and it didn't look like she was sucking a war head, it would be beautiful.
The concept is great, the girl just needs to stop being so tense.

PeacefulSoul In reply to MeZicH [2009-04-25 21:47:26 +0000 UTC]

I am just so tired of people not seeing the light of day these days. There are natural and obvious not so natural shots. This is a not so natural looking shot and everyone wants to find their place in denial and nowhere else!

And I agree with you, tense is close to the right word.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PeacefulSoul In reply to horsegirl99 [2009-04-25 19:13:45 +0000 UTC]

This, I will be honest, may be or is a matter of opinion, but natural photos are much more better than forced ones. Let me give you an example:

A writer that writes a poem/short-story and tries too hard is more lival to change his gut feeling by making unnecessary forced changes. It goes for anything. If you let something come from true naturality it will look better and percieve better to the viewer.

Yes, this picture may not be the greatest I have ever seen, but it is also not the greatest due to the reason I stated above.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

horsegirl99 In reply to PeacefulSoul [2009-04-25 19:54:57 +0000 UTC]

Yes, you may be right. It all depends on how you look at it. Your first reaction may be 'wow, what a great picture' and then 'oh, its staged.'

It doesn't really matter, though. Its just different opinions.

well said Siryan, no cop is going to go after a couple kissing in the street... wow. And this certainly isn't porn even if it hadn't been staged. The photographer obviously wanted to catch an audience on it, but its not art.
