I'm working on creating my own Casey! I can't wait to see how this one turns out. I already made Tinkerbull, Goatdad, Mutini, and about five or six scalemates. I'll send you some links once I get pictures of them ^^

Hey there!
I used your patterns to create my own Casey and she turned out wonderfully! I just took her to her first con with me Would you mind if I posted photos of my finished plush to my DA account (I'd credit you for the amazing patterns of course)? I just wanted to check.
(I'm also starting work on Vodka Mutini using your patterns )

If i wanted to make Casey's wizrd cape, how much black fleece would that require, and what would be the basic shape?

Ok, I have some questions.
1- If I want to have a tongue, how would I do that?
2- If I have a tongue, can I use flannel?
3- I'm not using felt, I'm using this really soft and fluffy polyester. Is that ok?
4- Once I'm done, can I post it on my deviantART and tumblr?

This is probably a stupid question, But where do you find the fabrics? I got a sewing kit not too long ago and I want to attempt this c:

Fleece fabric is quite common as far a fabric goes, any good craft shop should hold it and/or sewing shops. Though, that would generally exclude quilting shops. If you live in Australia I can suggest spotlight or lincraft. And if you don't have a local sewing shop, you'll have to look online.

Sorry I have a question, it says to place the head pieces right sides together. How are you suppsoed to tell which is the right side?
I'm a bit new to this sort of thing..

lishlitz In reply to SparkleGal180 [2013-07-19 11:59:44 +0000 UTC]
all fabric has a right side and wrong side. fleece and felt look fairly the same on both sides, so if you are having a hard time telling which is which don't stress over it. just do your best deciding which looks a bit fuzzier and make that the right side for your project. sometimes i put a little piece of tape on the right side so i can keep track. good luck

This apparently super late, but if you tug on an edge, isn't the wrong side supposed to curl inwards? That's how I was able to tell which side was which. By the way, this is a lovely Casey!

I am really having trouble sewing the legs. Whenever I am getting ready to turn them right side out, the toes don't come out because the leg back has been sewed to where the toes can't come out...

Does anyone think that one could scale the patterns up by... maybe two or three times and still be able to use it effectively? Or would that mess up the spacing indefinitely and render the pattern useless?

it should be fine as long as the proportions stay the same.

lishlitz In reply to Galaxy-Squid [2012-06-04 05:33:46 +0000 UTC]
you could try trimming around the rounded edge of the head bottom piece; make it a little closer to the size of the head top. if you do, you'll be trimming off some of the "v" notches so you might need to cut them again.. but you may want to leave them smaller.. that's all stuff you'll have to experiment with. good luck!

hmmm, not really sure how to describe it. i've been sewing for many, many years, and i've worked with sewing patterns before. i look at the character and try to think in 3D and what shapes would work. there are sewing tricks and techniques, like darts and pleats and such, that make the fabric behave in certain ways and give it shape. it's trial and error too. some of my prototypes are pretty silly looking, but then i know where to make changes and tweak the pattern to make it look right.
anyways, glad you like the patterns, and happy i can help out! have fuuun
