Tutorial on how I made my daughter's Celty helmet. I've had several inquires on how I made it, so I put this together for you guys. Had I realized at the time that I was going to make a tutorial I would have taken better/more pictures.. the ones I took were just my record of progress. I had to take a few to add to this tutorial, but I still wish there were better ones! I did my best to explain steps that I don't have pictures for. I hope it's still helpful and at least gives you some good ideas!Celty is from Durarara

Go searching at goodwill stores or other thrift stores. Easiest way to find a cheap helmet.

I know I didn't create this tutorial but you could get a second-hand helmet, all visor helmets look like that really. Just remember most helmets range from 100 and over so an $80 dollar helmet isn't bad. I hope this helps!

Is the wire mesh you used actually used for fly screens on windows? This helmet looks amazing!

we found the screen at the craft store, but any moldable metal mesh screen should work fine

Oh! and I have one question! How did you do the design on the sides of the visor?

masked off the visor.. painted the side areas yellow first, let it dry, then taped off and painted the blue shape. finished it with a black outline

Yeah I did a celty cosplay at Youmacon last year..I really didn't like how my helmet turned out :C

Awesome! My dad went with me while I was at youmacon..He didnt walk around the convention but we stayed in the hotel room together..so he got to see alot of the cosplayers as he walked me to and from the convention. He got really excited when he saw the other celtys like me xD

asdfghjkl your stencil idea is gonna be REALLY helpfull, i've made stencils before but they always end up leaking through -__- i never thought of using tape before, this is gonna help w any, & all my stencils i use from now on! thank you! ^_^
