What kind of wire did you use? Is it craft wire? How much (approximately if you aren't sure) did you use?

If you still need to know, approximately 40-50 gauge wires should be used.

I'd assume 1.5 metres?

coyotiie In reply to XxYouthfulWhiskeyxX [2014-01-11 16:12:42 +0000 UTC]

whatever length you want, I suppose~ they might have used a 2metre dowel, but that might not, for example, fit in your car. however long you'd prefer it.

(sorry for all the questions!)

Just-a-xe In reply to MaidOfEVIL [2013-08-25 18:22:42 +0000 UTC]

You would, but the primer negates the need for gesso.

I'm going to cosplay Crockertier Jane and use her trident in it. How would you make the orb at the end of it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Just-a-xe In reply to MothyCake [2013-08-25 18:16:17 +0000 UTC]

I'd say buy a large ball from Walmart or get a big beachball, then you can inflate it, cover it in a bunch of layers of paper mache, pop the ball (or don't up to you), then attach it to the end of the trident with paper mache, masking tape, duct tape, what ever you have to use to get it on there, then gesso it and paint it after the rest of the trident is painted so that you don't have to deal with repainting the orb.

what are the exact measurements on the wooden dowel

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Eevee-in-a-box In reply to naphirena [2013-04-13 22:25:28 +0000 UTC]

Well, that's more of a personal preference. For example, they used a dowel that's a 1/2 inch wide, but I think the 3/4 inch feels better. As for the length I used a 4 foot long one, but it looks like they used a 3 or 3 1/2 foot long one. You pick one depending one how you want it relative to your body. I picked 4 foot (plus the two ends which are 8 inches each) because I wanted it to be a about the same height as me.

adrienne1229 [2013-03-23 01:25:00 +0000 UTC]

could u do it with model magic instead of sculpey?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Anacrea In reply to adrienne1229 [2013-03-30 00:45:12 +0000 UTC]

I'm p sure model magic shrinks because it's an air dry clay. It'd try and crush the wires. The clay would probably crack. I'd recommend getting polymer or sculpey.
