Description
Tutorial on how I made my daughter's Celty helmet. I've had several inquires on how I made it, so I put this together for you guys. Had I realized at the time that I was going to make a tutorial I would have taken better/more pictures.. the ones I took were just my record of progress. I had to take a few to add to this tutorial, but I still wish there were better ones! I did my best to explain steps that I don't have pictures for. I hope it's still helpful and at least gives you some good ideas!Celty is from Durarara

Look on Revzilla, under the closeout section. They have some for like $50. Also, go in to a motorcycle shop and try on helmets so you know what size you need.

This Tutorial is really good 10/10. I just started working on my Helmet on Saturday and by today I got the clay on the ear's and will wait a day or two for the clay to dry. The paper clay was very easy to smooth out on the ear's and 100% the helmet will look amazing when finished. Also tip for everything I suggest hot gluing the paper mesh and getting the paper clay on before hot gluing the ear's on the helmet just in case you crush the ears as they are hollow. Also all the stuff you need besides the Peel and Cling Car window Tint are at Michaels Arts Craft Store and in U.S Dollars the price for all the stuff is $60 make sure to be prepared for that cost cause I wasn't XD

I have a question. That end piece where the blue check is. Isn't that part of the visor? So that means you have to paint over that too?

What colors/brand of spray paint did you use? I can't seem to find a good color match.

okay, I know this is kind've an older thing, but I was wondering if you had the dimensions for your ear template?
I have the same helmet, and the measurements would come in very handy. I can't get mine just right. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am so impressed, the lines for the ears are so clean! Thank you for sharing this!!
I'm following your tutorial for my Celty helmet, and I actually was able to buy the same helmet! Would you happen to have/like to share the dimensions/measurements for the templates? The ear pieces that is. I'm struggling getting them right...it's okay if not, I can figure it out like I'm sure you had to do . I guess it might depend on the size of the helmet too even though I got the same model...mine is XL (I have a big head & a lot of hair lol).
OH! Also, how did you determine the curve for the bottom of the template? Trial and error with lots of snipping? Thank you again for sharing this awesome tutorial!!

Hello I am currently working on a Celty cosplay and am using your tutorial to help make it. I have every material you used except for the wire mesh. I was wondering if you could tell me where you bought the wire mesh you used?

I don't want to sound rude, but I want to make this and I'm on a budget. What would be the price range of these items? I already have the hot glue/glue sticks, sand paper, sharpie, paintbrush, tapes and bags. I love this by the way!

Your helmet is like perfect and I am trying to replicate it! I can't find wire mesh for the life of me so I was wondering how necessary is it? Like what was it needed for?
Thank you!!!

i used it so the clay had something to bind to.. possibly try metal screen.. like for a window, found at hardware store

Fantastic job on the helmet!
I was planning on using the same type of paint, but was wondering if you waited the 7 days dry time or just the dry to touch time ~ an hour or so?
Thanks!

we had a deal
now i get a Celty Helmet X3
and this doesn't inter fear with the structure (your not screwing anything on), so i can still wear it on the road XD

even if i cant put the vents on, he wont let me even repaint it T^T
