Description
Edit: Here I'm too lazy to change this but apparently "the sclera is the white part of the eye, not the cornea. The cornea (along with eye fluid) is the clear part you see when you look at a dog face from the side." So there you go.WOOH made this as much for me as others. Hope somebody finds this useful. This covers dogs AND wolves. If anything in this seems off or if there are any writing errors tell me.
I call this advanced because there are many tutorials out there that cover the basic body structure of dogs and wolves but the things is here are a bit more nit-picky.
Images taken off of google (minus the one of my dog), if there really is a copyright problem I can draw my own versions but in many cases pictures seem much more helpful. It's for the sake of learning : <

Thanks so much for making this!I'm still trying to learn anatomy the best I can...though I never knew about the wolf hair thing...like it always goes to the back xD Just about everyone ignores that...((me included x3))This really helped me so far, especially the fur flow and the dog leg examples...I have trouble with those two things ^^

Glad it could help you :3
Well I think the most important thing is to copy photographs/ real dogs. My own dog is my ultimate reference. You'll be amazed at how quickly you can improve. There was definitely a time when I drew really derp, but now I manage pretty well. I think one of the main mistakes people make is trying to learn anatomy, lighting ect. by coping their favorite artists, but that's not good to do, because they're people too, who make mistakes and stylize. Even if a drawing looks good it might be totally unrealistic.
And dog legs are hard! I actually spent the last two days trying to understand the muscles in dog legs, they're quite funky XD

Dude I just read through this again and figured I should tell you that the sclera is the white part of the eye, not the cornea. The cornea (along with eye fluid) is the clear part you see when you look at a dog face from the side. Just puttin' it out there.

I know somebody told me that a long while ago, but it's a pain in the ass to change it and I don't really care. I'll make a note in the description or something.

I love you so much for this . Thank you ,thank you, thank you since very hard finding tutorials from people who know what fuck they are doing. So far your is one the few and good. It so hard to find a tutorial that doesn't look like it was drawn by a 5 year old or isn't about wolves.

I noticed this. Glad it could help you :3 The things that piss me off the most are like "Draw wolves in my style" tutorials, especially if that's person's style is already a copy of a really famous style, like Disney.

Haha nice! Great tutorial.
The only thing that bothers me is that (pardon me for being a bit nit picky) the white part of an eye is called the sclera, not the cornea.
But either way this is quite awesome. Thanks for posting!
