"96... 97... 98... 99... 100!"
Katara paused and took a deep breath, letting the skipping rope drop to the ground. sweat beaded on her brow, and the hedgehog brushed it away with the back of her hand. Her sessions at the gym were always enjoyable, especially since she had started coming with her friend, Takeda. Katara glanced over to where her friend was, watching as he worked out by punching a bag. Suddenly the gym equipment went flying, the chain holding it up snapping with a POP. Katara jumped back, avoiding the sand that split all over the floor.
"Hey! Careful there," Katara said with a laugh.
"Sorry about that, Katara," Takeda replied. "Guess they don't make these things like they used to."
Katara shook her head and smiled.
"You're getting pretty strong there, Takeda," she told her friend. "That's the third bag you've ruined this week."
Takeda blushed sheepishly and rubbed the back of his head.
"Thanks, Katara. But don't say that too loud."
He wandered over to the equipment storage and looked for a fresh punching bag.
"Here, give me a hand getting this set up before the management finds out," he said.
Katara walked over and helped heft the fresh bag up into place and stepped back to give Takeda room.
"Let's go another ten minutes," she told her friend. "Then we'll stop to grab a bit to eat."
Takeda nodded, his focus on the bag before him. Katara chuckled. Ten minutes was generous considering the force Takeda was putting into his punches. she doubted it would be long before another bag bit the dust...
