Description
- Sword in the StoneThe obligatory Authurian imagry that seems to be done so often. The infamous Sword in the Stone has been used by many, many pieces of fiction from poetry to numerous video games.
When I created this image, I wanted to fully mesh out a sword. This was supposed to be the beginning of my "Weapons" series. I would feature different weapons of different styles and eras. Although I've built several items of this nature, from this long sword to a full Daisho set, as well as several "Ninja" weapons, I never really went ahead with creating scenes dedicated to this ideal. This image was composed and rendered in trueSpace 4.3 with post processing done in Photoshop 5.5.
The tree in the background? It isn't mine. I downloaded a model from somewhere online years ago.

Good composition of the scene generally, but the leaves are too uniform, and the halo is overdone.

Halo? If you're talking about the lense flare in the hilt of the sword, that's an effect of the rendering itself. That's light that was cast off of the object in a radiosity render and caught by the positioned camera. The software drew that ring there without any input from me.
As for the uniform leaves, if you read my description, you'd know the tree isn't mine. I take no responsibility for the crappiness of other people's models. It was just a quick and dirty background. LOL

Oh, I just assumed the halo would have been added in photoshop, because the position is so directly central on the sword.

Heh
Thanks, Ty! Maybe there IS an elf in there... Somewhere. You just can see 'em 'cause they're wearing green. And invisible! Yeah, betcha didn't know they could do that, too!
