I always wanted to make some SCP inspired entry, so here’s one.

The current recordings are property of the NATO organization, anything reported here can only be inspected by authorized personnel.

My name is Michael Popper, I’m the lead scientist of sector Artemis of the [REDACTED] facility in [REDACTED], which observes the infection process of the [REDACTED] virus to fully understand what causes it and its spread.

Every infected individual that we know about is held inside the facility, and for now the illness has been confirmed to be under control.

I can safely believe that this disease doesn’t spread through contact, but through corporal fluids, like saliva and mucus.

The current image depicts a subject in the latest stage of mutation, in this case we were watching over patients YW-O8, once called [REDACTED].
Personally I always find inhumane calling people by using these codes, but my higher ups believe that is more efficient for catalogs.

Any how, it’s important to note that what you are witnessing in this picture is no longer patient YW-O8, but only her deformed corpse, as the disease creates a giant tumor inside the patient cranium, slowly crushing their brain, a truly painful death.

In stage one the patient started to grow green bulbous pustules on their body, the pustules are full of a powerful acid that resembles the one inside the human stomach, which means that trying to pop the growths is extremely unadvised.

In stage two the patient’s skin had become of a sickly green color, and numerous headaches started.
Further analysis showed that this was the tumor growing inside the cranium.

When we asked to operate patient YW-O8, our higher ups insisted that we continue to watch the illness development…. after all our job is simply to watch….

I’m not sure if the patient could’ve been saved, but looking at her and the others while……

During stage three we the patient was already dead, some off us wanted to call someone to carry away the body, but I refused to do so, and my decision probably prevented a breakout as the corpse started to swell rapidly.

If I had to describe the process I would compare it to the leavening of bread in an oven.

The body then started to grow exponentially, we witness something similar in other patients, but never a body has reached such a massive size, it is possible that this event was related to the fact that YW-O8 had started using some sort of steroids for medical reasons just a a few week before the infection.

This mutation is the most common, personnel usually refers to them as blobs, but the technical name would be
mutation A-1, the newly discovered GigaBlob however can be considered a mutation of its own, thus it has been renamed mutation A-2.

Blobs are amorphous masses that maintain the features of the hosts while also adding new ones, generally mouths and eyes.

They are very slow and a purple infectious liquid leaks from the eyes and mouth.

At this final stage the tumor has effectively become the new brain of the creature, in the case of the Blobs the brain is very smooth, barely fitting for a living being to work properly, and as such these gluttonous masses of sickly flesh aren’t much of a threat, so if they escape termination should be fairly easy, unless they are in a large group.

The infectious purple mucus can pass through fiber, so an hazmat suit is required when dealing with these mutations
