Description I never expected the Bloodhound knights from Elden ring to be so hard to draw, but after many attempts, this character came out alright, and besides I was able to challenge myself in an interesting way.

Rosh is another character from my hypothetical Elden Ring DLC, so if you need more context here’s a link most of the required informations: www.deviantart.com/logbot03/ar…

Rosh is a character that the player encounters in the island of Mortis.
He hides in a small hole in the walls of the catacombs and despite being a Bloodhound knight he’s not hostile towards the player:

“ *Sniff* *Sniff*…..”
“N….. not….. one….. y…. y…. ou …. g… g…. o… o”

After this interaction the Bloodhound knight will stop speaking to the player unless he’s attack, triggering an encounter similar to most Bloodhound knight’s.

The player however can find a an item called: Houndmaster’s ring

“A strange silver ring decorated with dark green decorations depicting a man petting a beast, it feels surprisingly heavy to hold and it seems to large to fit your finger.
It appears it can be use as a whistle”

This item can be given to Jar-Bairn when the player encounters him in the site of “grace” Tomb of the noble blood:

“Oi coz! Happy to see ye in one piece, these bloody catacombs are filled to the brim with horrific monstrosities which could easily tear through an expert warrior, but for us these things are but child play, am I right? AhAhAhAh!!”

“By the way coz, while looking around these tombs I came across this fine little trinket, I’m sure ye will find it quite useful”

Jar-Bairn gives the player the Flask of wondrous physick.
The player would have already find a few tears by now on the previous islands.

“Oh make no compliments cos! We’re comrades in this adventure, so it’s only fair we help each other’s”

The player can now give the Houndmaster’s ring to Jar-Bairn

“Oh?! What’s this? A ring? Well, I’m not really one to wear jewelry, but how could I refuse a gift from a friend.”

“Mmm…. fits me quite perfectly, thanks a bunch cos, I don’t know why, but this ring…. it feels like it was meant for me…..
mmmm….”

“Mmmm….”

The player leaves Jar-Bairn as he inspect the rings, and if we come back to the Bloodhound knight, he’ll be long gone.

When leaving the island of Mortis on the boat, the bloodhound knight is now seen near Jar-Bairn

“Oh oi coz! You know that ring ye gave me…. turns out it was a whistle to call… him”

“I’m not really one to travel in company ye know, as my uncle Alexander used to say “The path of champions must be trod alone”….. but this little fella’ insist in staying by my side….”

“Well I believe I can take him along with me for a while, though he’s an odd one indeed, I never saw a Bloodhound knight so….. talkative!

“We’ll see each other again on the road coz! Have a wonderful day!”

We can also speak to the Bloodhound knight:

“Y…..Y….. mas…. master friend…… y….. ou….. friend…. o…o…f…..Rosh”

We now know the knight’s name is Rosh

The player encounters Jar-Bairn and Rosh again on the island of Aquarius

“Ah coz, nice to see ye again, I was just teaching our friend Rosh a couple new words, let him hear it champ!”

“J…Jar! Pot…Po…o…tentate!…. C….orpse!”

“Ah, Ah, Ah! Perhaps I was wrong traveling on my own, perhaps even a champion needs a companion from time to time”

“Oh by the way coz, Rosh has found some interesting stuff while scouting around, I personally don’t need all of it, here, ye can have this”

The player receives “Greenish vitality crystal tear” and “ Great Intelligence knot crystal tear”

The first one makes stamina regenerate for 15 seconds and the second one is basically a better Intelligence knot crystal tear

They can also be found in the island of Saint Trina on a floating island

“Oi coz! Long time no see eh? Heading for that big tower over there, good luck getting there, we’ve been stuck walking in circles for hours”

“I don’t understand, this island is so small and yet it’s impossible to traverse it…. even Rosh’s smell is having problems, it’s as if the island itself is turning against us…”

“Say, if you’re looking for that heir, you should probably look near that altar over there on top of that hill, gotta say… never thought the kid would make it this far, a shame I can’t say the same for all of our comrades…”

“Well, there’s no point despairing about it, I’m sure they wouldn’t want that from us am I right coz?”

They’re journey ends in the final island: The Grail

As the player enters the impossible structure Jar-Bairn is found in the main hall looking while Rosh is sleeping beside him.

“Ah you’ve come coz! It appears this is the end of our journey, once I…. I mean we conquered all the great foes of this place we’ll probably return to the lands between…. once again victorious after another great journey”

“Hope that Omen leaf reader has been taking notes, cause I’ve certainly got a tail to tell the world…. If only uncle Alexander could see me now”

If Roadrick has perished the dialogue will be slightly different, but what really matters is what comes next….

Once on one of the higher floors we see Jar-Bairn, laying on a wall, with his interiors spilling out, as Rosh stands besides him howling and weeping. If the player has continued Conn’s quest line he’ll be here as well, witnessing Jar-Bairn Hoslow’s final moments

“Ah…… coz….. you came at last….. I…..I was afraid I would’ve been unable to say goodbye to you…. after all we’ve been through…*Cough* *Cough*, do not cry…. for me coz…. I died like a hero…. protecting everyone…. even if…. scared”

“Here’s a token….. of my gratitude…… for being my companion on my… journey *Cough* *Cough*”

If the player has followed Conn and Rosh’s quests there will be additional dialogue before Jar-Bairn’s death

“Little heir, for your courage…. take a piece of my interiors, it will grant you the power that you need….. in your final… struggle…”

“Oh Rosh…. my dear Rosh…. please, do not cry for me….. even if our journey together was short….. I’ll treasure it in the afterlife…. may we meet… where great warriors go to rest….”

After his death, the player receives his whip:

Whip of fallen comrades: a whip made from the remaining of the living jars who died at Jarburg, in the tragic night where only Jar-Bairn survived
Weapon art: Warrior Jar Spirit: the ghost of a small living jar throws itself from the whip as the user is attacking, creating a poisonous explosion.

After resting the player can talk to Rosh as he stands in front of his master’s corpse, his speech has now become more comprehensible

“*Sniff* Rosh….. must…… avenge….. kind…. master! Master…. friend…. help?”

Rosh is automatically summoned as the player enters a secret room where there’s a secret boss:

Crucible Knight Kraskamir

He’s not your usual crucible knight: he uses a pair of sort swords and his helm is decorated with wings.
His crucible moves are a combination of Ordovis and Siluria’s.
The fight will begin with Kraskamir having lost half of his health already if Rosh’s quest has been followed or with 2/3 of his health if we didn’t give Jar-Bairn the Houndmaster’s ring

After defeating him Rosh will thanks us before disappearing

“Thank….you….. now….. I must…. tend….. to…… kind… master”

We’ll later find Rosh dead besides Jar-Bairn, on his corpse the player finds the ash of war: Bloodhound Leap, that lets us make a leap capable of surpassing most enemies and useful to find secrets in NG+.

If Jar-Bairn has died before reaching the Grail, the player faces Kraskamir at full health as he proceeds to attack them and Conn after appearing in a way similar to the Bell-Bearing hunter
