Description
So yeah, since I’m in the mood I might as well show a couple of characters from that old concept of mine( link here if you haven’t read it before, P.S sorry if it’s a bit too long: www.deviantart.com/logbot03/ar… )
To be honest, drawing this guy was quite refreshing, considering that I’m terrified of drawing guns, but surprisingly, the weapon came out quite well, sure is not perfect, I’m practically self-taught after all, but I can only go up from here (hopefully).
One last thing before diving in, by watching a couple of artists of YouTube, I realized that drawing the hand before the arm, makes the job significantly easier, most artists probably know this, but if you have my same low level of competence in the field, perhaps this might help you just as much as it helps me, in fact now I can draw at least one of two hands decently now that I used this technique.
I can’t say why, probably because I’m not conditioned by the positioning of the arm.
This is the Jackson King, The Huntsman, a gun for hire and the first serious threat that our hero has to face.
Dinamo encounters Jackson after a thug he just beat up, tell him that his boss, a small time crime boss trying to become a bigger fish in the sea, has hired a sniper to take out a regional counselor that has been corrupted by a rival gang.
Terrified that this might start a gang war, Dinamo decides to stop the sniper and use his confession to help the police arrest his employer.
Little did he know that this guy is a foe the likes of which he has never faced….
Arriving in the nick of time, Dinamo manages to save the target, but sometimes feels off about this sniper: he never directly shot at the counselor, instead they made the bullets bounce on various surfaces to be redirected towards them.
So the first challenge is to find out from where they are actually shooting.
Despite what you might think, this guy isn’t a superhuman, he is simply so obsessive compulsive that he had studied the entire layout of the area where he would have shot the target for literal months, the area being the Duomo Square, an extremely open space that is usually crowded with people.
Dinamo however manages to find out where the Huntsman is hiding: on top of the Cathedral.
Once face to face the young hero understands the meaning of the nickname, and that this guy isn’t a normal hired gun, but a completely unhinged sociopath.
In fact every time that Jackson is forced to kill a prey in a face to face scenario, he deems the hunt worthy enough to get a macabre souvenir from the target’s corpse, explaining the hands on his knees, the face bones on his shoulders and the necklace with teeth and finger bones.
The reason why I choose the Duomo for a fight like this, is because of its iconic nickname: The eternal construction site. Not only the structure took literal centuries to be completed due to various complications, but also because it’s in constant needs of restoration.
So our hero has to fight a well trained and insane killer on a construction site that is several feet above ground.
Realizing he has no chance in defeating the Huntsman in a physical confrontation, Dinamo decides that the best way to deal with him is to make him fall, but if he dies, then the police won’t get a confession out of him, and besides he’s not particularly comfortable in killing somebody, even if it’s someone like Jackson, so through a couple of poor attempts at fighting back and a couple of broken bones later, Dinamo manages to get his hands on one of the construction workers safety belt, and after a convoluted game of cat and mouse through the maze of the construction site, Dinamo manages to slip the belt onto the Huntsman and makes the platform on which he stands collapse underneath him, leaving him dangling there until the police arrives.
Jackson doesn’t pose any sort of resistance during the interrogation, the employer gets arrested and the counselor is exposed.
Unfortunately, Jackson isn’t particularly forgiving considering that Dinamo has interrupted his hunt, and even though he does show any sort of emotions it’s pretty clear that he has a clear distaste for Dinamo.
The Huntsman will face our hero numerous times, spending months over months to set up his next jobs and preparing in case Dinamo shows up.
In order to overtake him, Dinamo can’t act the same way twice as the Huntsman always learns from previous defeats, so creativity is his best weapon against this opponent.
But who is Jackson King?
Jackson was an average kid, he was born in Nebraska in a small community, and sometimes he went hunting with his dad, but apart from that he was a pretty nice kid to be around, until he went to Iraq after joining the army.
After a grenade blew up the house where him and his platoon were hiding, something broke inside his head, maybe it was the shock or perhaps a concussion, but nonetheless he was no longer the same Jackson, but a husk of himself.
Eventually he was dismissed from the army due to his increasing obsession with perfectionism, refusing to accept order or to work with others.
One day his father invited him to his house in hopes of unlocking something into his damaged mind, but unfortunately it only made things worse.
When he decided to invite him to hunt one last time, something, once again awoke into Jackson subconscious.
His father was an army veteran himself, so the fight was brutal, but in the end, Jackson, managed to get out on top, claiming his first human prey.
